QB competition at this point certainly feels like ......

The only true answer is time will tell,obviously.

 

As for right now,regardless of circumstance he has enough troubles facing an opposing team,let alone the world.I hope the new philosophy changes that. I have skepticism off of 24 games but also hope it changes.If in fact ,they actually exit the free agent market and sign back Mason, he does get the true competitive chance he deserves. May the best man win if this ends up being the scenario.

If this is true, then the Steelers will have the worst QB in the division by a mile. Kenny P stats are some of the worst in the league over his starts and he is fragile to boot. There is a reason we did not play him in playoffs or Ravens. HE STINKS.

Yeah, he's not the reason they suck. He's averaged nearly 67% completion percentage, throws for nearly 280 yards a game for his career, has been personally responsible for 2 TD's per game, and does all this with a career interception percentage lower than "great at protecting the ball Kenny Pickett". If he was on a better team/organization he would be one of the faces of the league. He's a top 5 QB playing on a bottom 5 organization.

That is part of the draft process, sometimes you just land in a garbage situation. Yes, Keenan Allen is a good player and Ekeler was too for a bit... but the team as a whole is garbage. They don't lose games because Herbert isn't good enough. They've won as many as they have because Herbert is a beast.

Well if the owner says We now know what this team looks like with good Qb play....., and the coach , and GM are saying we are going to have a real competition, and You know we always carry at least 3 Qb.....by reading between the lines... I don't see how this say we will be just hitching our wagon to just KFP.

 

So just say the truth....you actually don't watch any of the games, and just look at His stats.
I will repeat one more time......do You know how many times just this year at the ends of the game....when needed to make a play he failed, did nothing, or turned the ball over???

 

Harbaugh will have Herbert a top 3 QB in the league and competing for championships within two years. Say what you want about him, but he knows how to create winning cultures. We used to have one of those.

 

The Steelers took a chance on Pickett .

 

Keenan Allen has been more than a good player in the NFL for a long time and Ekeler was incredible over several seasons.

Herbert is extremely talented. He is capable of so much on a football field. The one thing that has become more apparent to people about Herbert is that he hasn't been good in clutch situations in big games or pressure moments of games.

I would love to have Herbert. I don't think he has achieved everything he can to this point of his career. The Chargers have been a mess at the head coach position, but they have had talent. The defenses have sucked despite some talent and they have underachieved overall. Herbert has a high ceiling but needs to get over the hump with his performance in big games or pressure situations.

I think he will be elite if he overcomes some of his problems dealing with big moments and has a chance to be as good as anybody.
