I have no idea what is going to happen until we line up against the Bungles in game 1.

I'm not saying that he played great, I'm just saying that he did the minimal possible to avoid a disaster. Kind of like a kid taking his finals and needing a 60% grade to pass and getting exactly that a 60%.

Good point. Look at Duck Hodges in 2019 he won his first 3 starts and people were ready to build a statue of him in front of the stadium and then the wheels fell off and he never won another game.

Normally I would agree with you but how do you judge the QBs if they don’t play with the 1’s

Plus a bunch of the 1s are new

They need time to meld together

depends how innovative they can get without having to cater to what ben liked. we have a lot of weapons they could move around and should. that will be on the coaches to put packages together and mix them up.

I see Mitch's "#1 without question" status on the depth chart on the line in this Saturday's Game. There is now way Mitch does not start on Saturday.

He comes out and plays like crap then you will have a full fledged QB Battle on your hand.

I predict the 1 game that Rudolph does start Tomlin will be resting Najee, DJ, and maybe Pat that same week. Keeping his thumb on the scale in the QB Battle.

I really don't think so. I think they have already made Mitch the starter. Pickett would have to be had and shoulders above them both to get the spot and at least for year 1 he is not. I see no acenario that they go with the rookie as the back up if Mitch goes down. I think Kennys season ends after the preseason and he watches year one

    It's Trubisky, Mason, Pickett

I doubt Mason even has trade value at this point (they should have traded him last year IMO) if he can't beat out the rookie.. he will just be cut if he pulls out his inner. AB/DEEBO

If some other teams have injuries at QB, then Mason will have some trade value.

Why? He has no value here and he knows the system? What can he bring to another team that their own camp arm can't do?

(Myself I still think he might win the starting job if it's truly a contest, but if the Steeles think he has nothing to offer in pretty sure no one else will either. Look at Baker Mayfield.... and he has more value than mason

It's not hate. He really hasn't done anything worthy of such as a strong emotional reaction. I'm just aware that he's no better than a serviceable backup quarterback in the NFL.

Behind Josh Allen. One of the top 5 QBs in the NFL.

We have 2 backups and a rookie who had no business being a 1st rounder. Unless 1 of the 3 plays absolutely out of their minds, QB will be a weak spot for this squad IMO.

I think most of us can agree that Pickett is the future. With that said, I would like to see Mason win the starting job after a QB competition with Trubisky as that is the way it should be. However, the best thing for Mason is for Mitch to win the starting job. After a few short weeks of Trubisky struggling, bringing Mason in to create a spark in the offense will help him win over the naysayers rather than him win it week 1 and be under the microscope.

    Maybe

If all 3 suck and we draft high enough we may take another QB

One criticism of Kenny Pickett is that he was the "20th" pick. This is a bogus critique. Quite honestly being a top 5 QB pick isn't always the best thing other than ego. If I was a QB coming out of college projected to be a first rounder I would want to be outside of the top ten as these teams most often are looking for the missing piece. If you are top 5 and they have to build around you, there are going to be a few rough years. There are exceptions such as the Mannings and others in the modern era. However, look how many top 5 QB careers were destroyed going to a failing franchise.

Preseason may be able to shine a spotlight on some of these questions.

Everyone was going crazy for Haskins last year; He had his one Preseason start put a a QB Rating of 2 in the 1st half against the starting defense and all the Haskin Supporters immediately left the building.

Haha, you got that right. It went from Haskins being the successor to we have no one on the roster.

I'm just hoping ... that this, young and talented offense ... doesn't get wasted away ... with poor offensive play calls and a offensive coach with no imagination. We have enough talent on offense to surprise the league.
