This is where Casey Hampton in his prime was a big help. But players like him are far between.

A couple of years ago I was pushing for a high round draft choice at nose tackle. That idea got hammered down because people were calling the NT a two down position. I maintain that is a function of having the right NT.

    Hargrove has shown some signs.

I still think we need a legit NT on this team.

Both teams we watched last night had big anchors on their D-line... I refuse to believe it is a dead position.

Not 500, but you know what I mean... Redzone defense would greatly improve. Aaron Smith and Hampton were stout. Tuitt and Heyward as good as they are can't compare in that regard.

Our defense then was beastly because we really didn't have a weakness
    Especially 2008

    Smith- underrated extremely good
    Kiesel- beast
    Hampton - beast

    Woodley- really good
    Farrior-beast
    Foote- good
    Harrison -legendary

    Taylor-beast
    McFadden-solid
    Clark-beast
    Troy- a god

I agree. In his prime he was something else. Phenomenal... like a LT of his position.

Agree and some of my thoughts on the matter don't go over well in the Bill Nunn draft room :lolol:

Hampton and A. Smith were a special duo indeed. A lot of the D's success started there.

Chasing a QB out of the pocket is different than getting past a RT to sack a QB in the pocket. Agree?

With Dupree being questionable vs. Browns with injury, I get the feeling we'll be drafting YET ANOTHER linebacker in the first round next year.

Aaron Smith was one of the best 5-techniques who ever played the game.
