Well... liked and thinking he is gonna be the best at his position are two different things. If you thought Bell was gonna be this damn good then congrats cause your better than most people.

 

Well I can only tell you what I read and I wasn't here on this board. The board I was on a lot of people liked Bell but nobody thought he was going to turn into what he is. Lots of people liked the pick heck I liked the pick but I never dreamed he would become the best at his position. Like I said after year one the board I was on there was a thread call Bell vs Lacey and there were just as many posters for Bell ans there was against Bell.

 

yep i was going to say that BF. you and i both liked him i remember. i wasn't a big lacy fan at all i know.

 

I didn't dig that far back I did dig up the Bell vs Lacey thread here and it was like 50-50. lol

 

Ejuan Price, doesn't have the measurables but can get after the QB, somebody will give him a chance
I hope. Also James Connor will make some team happy they drafted him.

 

Man it feels like forever ago I can't remember the reactions but people not liking the pick is not standing out to me right now. I also don't remember people thinking Bell was going to be some big time player either.

 

You know the other night they showed on the NFL channel Bell getting announced on draft day and I am not sure if it was a cut up clip but it didn't sound like a lot of boooo's. However it was hard to hear over the HERE WE GO STEELER chant, lol.

 

This one made me want to have him pick me 6 numbers for the lotto:

 

ha that's great, don't think I was on this site at that time. I did like Bell for that draft but I don't remember what round I thought he'd go. "Another Dwyer...." thats classic.

 

All the hype for Arthur Brown in that draft thread , the great Ozzie Newsome missed on that pick.

 

and S Matt Elam a year or two before. Just goes to show you some GMs for all their hype aren't infallible and the unpredictability of the draft

 

TBH, I can't fault him for it, I've said some crazy sheet too about prospects That wouldn't have been my first comparison but, I'm sure I've inserted foot squarely into mouth on others. Such is the great thing about evaluating the draft. Opinions all over the place. So much fun...

 

elam just never got healthy. kind of like golson. i did reference dwyer and said bell would be a better form of dwyer. he was. a lot better form of dwyer.

 

I was referring to someone else's post but you can never predict Bell drops weight and ends up what he has become. Just like Landon Collins at S for the Giants. It's still fun..

 

agreed, ya never know. i told many on here they would like AB when we drafted him. well, i knew he was good but wow he really took off.

 

still like the two guys at the beginning of this thread. this pumphrey kid is not dri archer thats for sure. he beat all of marshall faulks records. he had more carries his sr. year than dri had in 4 years. you don't put up those numbers being a one trick pony. this is a guy that will make defenses pay. he'd be a great backup to bell. karlos williams or FT as the other.

kazee seems like a good slot corner that isn't afraid to help in run support and coverage in place of gay. like gay he could if needed jump outside too. productive, active corner.

 

I like Aaron Jones RB UTEP....Turtle has him in his mock and I think 5 th round would also be a great spot to address the RB position....he is coached by former Steelers coach Sean Kugler so we may be able to get the inside track on his ability and character....I also think the 3rd round comp pick we got is big and can help us get to where we're trying to go a little sooner....

 

kugler has a nice looking TE that could be had late. plinke. the kid is pretty well rounded too as a receiver and blocker. if you get a chance watch some tape on him.
