in other words, there are college QBs and Pro Qbs. I think we've seen the Pro Qb in Rudolph but not in Dobbs. Like most have stated...great guy and I wish him well but sometimes one's calling is elsewhere.

There’s bias in data wherever it is though; some in the recording of the data (as in PFF), some in the data model.

Take QB passing yards. Basic stat. Doesn’t actually record passing yards but length of play. I well remember Landry Jones’ stats being labelled flattering when he was dumping off to AB who then got 15 more by himself. Sure, we could subtract YAC, but that’s not always all on the receiver, as it depends on the placement of the ball in the first place.

At the end of the day, the pass yard stat is the best we can do to cover a series of complex variables. But it’s only representing a reconstructed version of events, leaving a lot out.

For that reason I don’t have so much of an issue with PFF methods, so long as they’re seen as another version of events rather than a definitive one.

My post was less about comparing the abilities of the two and more about how teams figured out how poor Jackson's accuracy was and so they stacked the box shutting down the run option and forced him to throw it.

That is a good point, too. I do think some people on this board are overestimating what Dobbs would be able to do as a runner.
