Vince joins at about the 1:00:00 mark. Be forewarned some of you will get your feelings hurt by listening to this one.

I didn't want Vince to retire. I think he had at least one more year in him.

It sounded as though they tried getting him to return after he retired and the injuries started mounting

Agree. I don't know how this generation finds it entertaining listening to people just podcasting all day. I'll just go ahead and show my Boomer a$$ to the door now.:icon cry:

well there is the aspect of potentially learning something. For people like yourself it could be quite enlightening. Of course you’ll just stick to your guns stick your head in the sand and complain about glory days, millennials. Yada yada yada

I read constantly. Love the classics. I have a whole room that holds my library. Don't need podcasts to learn anything. I find them boring for the most part. Ever since retiring I've taken many online courses in WW2 History and History in general. Not trying to argue with you. If you enjoy podcasts go for it. There are other ways of learning.

Well, It sure won't be any skill set that I would want or need on this subject but if they were to talk about building a pool deck or kitchen remodeling then maybe I'd be interested. Point being. Some of these people that make a living off of being a pod caster or even more dumb in my book, an influencer are kind of selling themselves short (no matter how wealthy they can become). JMHO

It's like the conversation I had with my 14 year old this past week.

Me... Come outside and I'll show you how to change a thermostat on my truck.
    Him... Why?
Me.... So you can do it for 12 bucks and don't have to pay someone $250.
Him... If I need to do it, I'll just you tube it.
Me... Or I could show you.
    Him... Do I have to?
Me... No, but don't call me when you need your car worked on years from now.

I guess the Boomer in me is just worried about the future generation. Not to worry though they will just put their new EV Car batteries on their credit cards. (Rant over).

I haven't listened to the interview yet but I read one he gave earlier in the week. It was a good read. When I read he considered himself the best linebacker on the team, I was like really? But sometimes when no one else believes in you, you need that self confidence, you need to tell yourself you are the best. I can definitely understand the depression he felt and the loss of identity. When my dad was forced into retirement due to illness he was lost for a long time. His identity was so tied up in his job that when he had no job he lost that piece of himself. I'm glad Vince was able to find something beyond VWILL football player and start working back to being a happier person.

That said he still couldn't read a play to save his life and jumped gaps before the running back had made a cut.

Here’s the rub with your anecdote. These are two men that played professional football at a high level for the team that you claim to love. You’re not going to learn what they have to teach from any other place.

Not with a 14 year old son he isn’t. He might already be a grumpy old man, but not officially a boomer.

That apparently became a sticking point with the church that and getting married which they did

There are some details and timing issues we are fuzzy on

    We call him Father father

And none of them have anything to do with the Steelers. You watch the news, tv, nfl pre and post game shows… listen to talk radio the list is endless. Listening to a podcast is pretty much no different. In this instance it’s two professional athletes that played for the Steelers. Your library isn’t providing anything remotely similar to what they do

Apparently there are 120 priests in the US that have been granted permission to marry/procreate. Let’s face it there is a fairly significant number of catholic priests out there having sex. They’re just doing it without “permission” and it’s just with little boys.

I know you're gonna say, pot meet kettle and I do like to push things to the line. But this doesn't belong here. Not cool, man.
