I'm really starting to worry about Porter, he thinks grabbing guys with his hands is playing good defense

In the last 13 years, no. Unfortunately, we're stuck with the bum for another 3 years (at least). Rooney seems to be content with perpetual mediocrity, and I'm sure that suits Tomlin just fine as well

He will be the least of our worries. he is going to make some mistakes, have to learn from them.
    Very good player.

    Pro

    George Pickens
Corey Trice JR. Nice to see him out there making plays after his injury of last year
Kyron Johnson. Had a couple of tackles and at least one for a loss

    Cons

    8. Tyler Matkevich looks lost out there

Folks, I am not an MT supporter, but this was only a preseason game, MT can't preform a fundamental QB/ center exchange
these players should have learned this in Peewees/midget football. it was a sloppy performance in all 3 facets of the game.
I would rather have them make mistakes now than when it counts.

Who's job is it to see that his team is prepared for these games? Sorry, but we've seen way too much of this sort of thing from Tomlin during his tenure, and I don't see anything changing in the future

It is his job, but as explained at this level the QB/center exchange should be easily executed. Remember the Texans played
more first stringers tonight than Steelers did. Let's let the process play out, Now if they're not ready first game of season then we have a problem.

While it would be ridiculous to write off a coordinator after one preseason game, imo the offensive play calling was vanilla stacked on more vanilla. Every team in the league simplifies their playbook for the preseason yet it seemed Houston had no issues getting the right calls in for the situation.
Now, granted they had Mills and Keenum under center who have a lot of experience but I still felt that there was enough creativity for those guys to keep moving the chains.
I just hope Smith is a guy who can figure out how to use the weapons that we have. I can't bear to watch an offense even remotely similar to the last 2 seasons.

Butts in the seats $$$ in the pockets seems to be just fine. AR3 is not his father or grandfather. Not even close.

What weapons do we really have? An unproven but talented WR1 two decent RBs and a decent TE if he’s actually not injured? And that’s not even talking about the QB situation. The defense has a lot more top end talent. I could argue Watt Minkah Queen and possibly even Highsmith and JPJ are better than any player we have on offense besides possibly GP if he doesn’t go nuts.

I don't care if Arthur Smith is good or bad in the preseason....Matt Canada was a great OC in every preseason. This is when the regular season will start we will know more about Smith

Still, the fumble snap on 2 occasions,it can't happen preseason or not. This is on the players, this one.I mean, this is the most basic thing in football. It should be corrected soon

    O-line was horrible too(the tackle)

Yea the O Line did not look even close to ready. With the end of the year schedule if we struggle out the gate even the over .500 master himself might be in trouble.

Maybe I have just been conditioned to QB’s who lack anticipation over the last few years.

Warren, Harris, Muth, Pickens, Washington(Red zone, short yardage), Wilson(see what the rookie has), Austin(find better ways to get him involved).
Despite what your doom and gloom attitude thinks, the cupboard is not completely bare.

I wonder what he needs to do in Tomlin's eyes to unseat Herbig at the starter spot.

This season is going to hinge on the oline coming together. Better get the right guys together soon so they can start to gel.

It’s not doom and gloom it’s being subjective when it comes to the Steelers. I don’t drink kool aid if and when the Steelers are good again my posts would be much different.

Wilson is ranked 28 out of 32 QB
    Harris ranked 22 Warren 27
Pickens ranked 27! No other WR even in the top 80!
    Muth 13th

Now those things can change and it’s preseason projections but that gives you an idea of what non Steeler fans think of this offense.
