Imagine if Allar become very good in the NFL....This draft pick was from the George Pickens trade!

I doubt if they can get anything for Rudolph, they'll cut him after pre-season.

11 penalties , and a 39 second field goal drive against us is the only negative I seen tonight

Only pre-season but the young QB's exceeded all expectations.

Can we keep everyone? Welp, the training camp ice cream photo has made me hungry for Ice Cream. So, off we go, she’s driving me to get a custard.

Probably doesn't mean all that much, but this was a nice game.

Good to see Bernard have a good day.

    All the QBs played well.

Got to see the Wetjen experience.

Big negative is too many penalties. Other than that, a good game.

It's preseason, so take Howard and Allar's performance with a grain of salt, but I liked watching how the offense worked, watching the formations, and seeing McCarthy call plays, even if it was vanilla.

Vastly superior offensive system. That alone gives me some hope for the future.

Yeah, KJ isn't showing his power or vision that they thought he had in college.

He's also not giving much on ST so he's probably odd man out.

Bridgewater retired in Detroit, so they may need a backup.

I like it. It seems McCarthy likes reps and getting down the execution plays, very different than Tomlin's approach, which was more about physicality.

We might not be world beaters on defense, but at least the unit won't be ground down like Coffee in Week 8.

I am more happy for Allar than anything to be honest.

Dude had his confidence broken and then his foot; rehab to even get back to the NFL Scouting Combine. Even after that, the questions about whether or not he had the mental makeup to even be a backup were added to the already mounting critiques; most of them fair.

I was on record during the entirety of the draft process in stating that Allar being drafted to Pittsburgh would give him the best chance to develop. I stood by that due to the resources Allar would have at his disposal; Tom Arth being the unsung hero in my opinion.

Tonight wasn't the true test all of us needed to see if Drew Allar could be the next one. However, tonight was a good litmus test on how far Drew has come from being rebuilt from the ground up. He still has some ways to go but the foundation that the likes of McCarthy and Arth have both built for him is looking pretty damn good. Most of all, Allar looked both calm and relaxed; the most I have seen him since 2024.

Again, one game isn't going to define him. However, a good step in the right direction can yield its reward provided that person make it count. Here is hoping Allar can do so.
