Make a prediction of THE key or Top FA signing and justify it.

I'v just started looking and there is two key areas that might be addressed in FA.

I am still hopeful that Nick Perry can be brought in. Played last year on a 5mil deal. I would think the Steelers would offer 8-10?? but I am guessing. Packers HC McCarthy has already said he wants Perry to be re-signed and I don't know if the Steelers offer would be enough to lure him away from his original team and they are usually a playoff participant as well. Obviously our need at OLB would justify the signing and free up a lot of options at the top end of the draft.

More realistically, I could see OLBs like a Lerentee McCray or Corey Lemonier being brought in to add to the rotation if a starter is not found in FA to man the right side. I'm assuming the optimal plan with JH92 would be to use him as a rotational piece but if they cannot make the money work with a top FA, he would have to return as the starter. Neither of the guys I mentioned would be looked upon to be a starter but they could be options if the team wants to steer away from JJ. Both could be signed around 1 mil I'm thinking. If they went this route, an OLB will have to be picked early.

Not another splash signing but one I would like is CB Kayvon Webster. Special teams captain for the Broncos and stuck behind Talib, Harris and Roby in Denver. Have him compete on the outside or take over for Gay in the slot. 5'11 198.

I have seen his name come up a lot by others too. Would be a good pickup for the slot.

Probably a corner. I think we will be in the market for a CB to cross it off our early draft list so we can focus on ILB/OLB, TE (maybe), DE depth

I'm leaning in the CB market right now.... Their defense against the pats was telling as was the post games comments " we don't have the players " when defending zone vs press but issue is money, there are players available but do have the $$$

We'd have to try to snag a man corner if we do. I think Burns will be more than capable. Hopefully Golson or Cockrell can play some too. I think this is the hole we can fill the best in FA without killing our remaining cap space. We don't need a #1 man corner in FA. Just another guy who can give quality snaps at the number two opposite Burns

    S. Gilmore is the best available but we can't afford that.

I'm not a fan of Dre Kirkpatrick, inconsistent and will need safety help.

Leaning towards Alteraun Verner but at the slot, 3yr 8 mil and replace Gay.

I'm not seeing a #2 CB to replace Ross at a decent price we can afford. Ross is looking the better option now.

I can see drafting a top CB somewhere in the First two rounds.

Blah blah, I know, but they are the equivalent. Steelers just don't get credit if they didn't play somewhere else last year.

    Carry on.

Kinda confused , the steelers are known for trying to keep their own and being minor players in FA market.

I started this thread to challenge fans to try and guess who that one key FA signing may be..... NOT list their own signings already done.

Johnathan Cyprien, I think this is the S help we need. I feel by signing this guy we can use the draft on a CB-WR-TE-RB.

I am not sure if he is the best option but I liked he when he came out of college. I like that he is only 26 still pretty young and has been a starter. Playing for the Jags often get players over looked, some for a very good reason others cause they play for the Jags, lol.

I am still tossed up on him cause we have Mitchel for this year and maybe next. With that said this draft is deep at S and it might be better money wise to draft Mitchel's replacement. He is however an option for us, imo.

His agent Rosenhaus is demanding 10-12 mil per yr. Dont think steelers do that.
