Higgins did not appear to do anything wrong. In that game though I did see #91 try to rollup on Josh Allen. We know the Bengals can be dirty but to suggest this was anything but a freak accident is silly. Bart Scott is a d ick for making such a suggestion. Imagine how sick Higgins already feels. This just makes it that much worse.

That is what I’ve been reading, BUT after listening to what he said again I Truly don’t think he was blaming Higgins.

He was Clearly explaining the play, How Higgins dropped his head and shoulder before making contact, which is absolutely Legal and most prominent with RBs!

He also said the NFL will probably visit that type of thing and make it illegal for offensive players to lower their head/shoulders to make contact.

To Say Scott was Blaming Higgins is just Wrong. He wasn’t placing the blame for Hamilns injury at Higgins feet as purposeful but as a common practice in todays game.

I saw that roll up on Allen and thought the same thing ….

Go back and review what Bart was asked and how he answered it. It’s a common play. Now how Hamilns body responded to it is totally a freak incident. A one in a million chance that contact causes Cardiac Arrest.

I work with someone who had a heart attack and we picked up the extra work. He's been out about 6 weeks now but I really hope he comes back just cause we miss him personally. I'm pretty sure my company couldn't care less as long as the work is getting done.

Thats not a source that provides many examples.

As long as we are doing one-offs, I know a guy who has a construction company, there was a death on the job involving heavy machinery. Guess what they didn’t continue to do, work.

Does that company operate in front of 50,000+ (idk the attendance) non-employees (customers) and broadcast live to the world during heart attacks?

I know a big company that has places in Arkansas, NY, Colorado, Oklahoma, and NC...that is a Welding, fabrication, and all steel structure manufacturing, and I personally had a friend get Hurt so bad loading a truck with steel girders that He was unresponsive....rushed to the hospital in a coma, and died.....Not only didn't they shut down....they finished loading the truck. Oh they did offered some counseling later.
Also if I gave the name, and You looked it up....they are a 5star rated place to work. So.....I'm sure different places handle things differently.

"The NFL has tried to take the head out of the game," Scott added. "We almost don’t think of the violent hits — we always associate that with the defensive players in targeting and lowering their head. But they did put in the rule maybe five years ago, that offensive players can’t use the crown of their head, helmet as a weapon, which is kind of what Tee Higgins did."

It seems innocuous but I can see why people would get triggered over his comments. There is no blame at all that I can tell and what is the point of making Higgins feel like crap when he is merely playing the game of football.. There was no malicious intent imho.

The NFL didn't shut down the game. The teams did and the NFL had no choice but to go along and act like it was their idea all along.

Then it shouldn't matter how many people was in attendance, or if it was on live tv or not

Of course, it matters. The NFL cares about PR. That is why they are bothering to lie about their original intent to try to finish the game that night.

BigBunch made the blanket statement that most jobs would continue to work. Some would some wouldn’t. A lot would depend on the type of job. An office building where someone dies on the 3rd floor isn’t likely to send everyone home. A death on a construction job I think more often than not would result in shutting down for the day. Smaller company’s would be more likely to shut down than a large company.

Comparing any of those jobs to a team sport is silly. It’s not even comparing fruits, its a different universe altogether.

Truckin, those are some pretty awful losses, long time ago but condolences all the same.

I work for a national Transportation Co. The truck drivers work in pairs… team driving. A couple years back one driver had a heart and died. They let the co- driver have the rest of the week off but everyone else continued to work.

I’ve heard defensive players over the last few years, usually after getting fined for a hit, complain they get fined but the offensive players can do what they can’t. I don’t think Scott was being mean, or malicious in his words, just explaining what happened and what the NFL would likely do in the future .
