I couldn't find any information on him being in the Canadian League last year. His stellar career includes being the #1 overall pick by the Hartford Colonials of the UFL - which went defunct - making him a free agent. After that, Philly signed him as an UFA in 2011. After not making the Eagles, he signed with the Arizona Rattlers of the AFL. I could not find any stats that indicate he actually played a down with the Rattlers. Then, of course, the Steelers signed him and he had an All-Pro pre-season.

They see the real talent/lack of - and set up the team accordingly.

our qb's had the highest rating in the league in preseason , with JJ having the highest. he played well for a rookie. the shoulder injury set him back a couple of years until now and now it's right. qb's with his accuracy and size don't grow on trees.

Agree to disagree mac. I'm not saying that's he's would/could/should replace Ben. I'm just saying they're not going to keep 4 qb's on the 61-man roster and that guys like Johnnson aren't hard to find to make up a preseason roster. I have already said that guys like Brady and Warner are an exception - and that we're better off with two capable veterans as our backups. Obviously, since Johnson hasn't even gotten a sniff from another team, there are 32 GMs, HCs and OCs who tend to agree with me. They're all looking at the same waiver wire that we are, and the name Jarrod Johnson doesn't even deserve a phone call. Watching a guy peform well in practice and with your 3s and 4s in the preseason game, it's easy to say "WOW! This guy is really good!" and I'm not saying he's a scrub. I'm just saying that he's probably NOT NFL QB material - plain and simple. I can see one team swinging and missing on a future big-time player (Dawson, Unitas, Marino) - but those guys did not fly under the radar of the rest of the league.

I don't know MD, I'm worried, I don't know where in the world the Steelers will find an average QB if the need arises
