I think I'm really going to like Cobi. I'm quickly becoming a fan. I hope he doesn't disappoint.

I'm not at all surprised Tomlin stated they need to always be prepared given his "next man up" philosophy, and it's true. It gives those guys something to strive for. They never know when they might get their chance to shine.

i've always said these guys are not just scrubs and losing good ones with potential is a big deal. i love seeing these guys get their shot and making good for us as i do the UDFA's we pick up every year. it's like an extension to our draft. why wouldn't you develop these guys?

 

Yes, we have done a great job with them but also, let a few slip away

 

Great read and it just goes to show the Steelers know what they are doing. We spend a lot of time in the off season here on the draft and picking each pick apart and talking about who they should pick up after. Sometimes we don't agree and sometimes they get it wrong but this article goes to show you how good our front office really is.

 

I love that they create that culture for the PS players. They do put a lot of effort into finding those guys and developing them. Kinda pisses me off when other teams poach our guys off there. Josh Mauro being an example. This article just illustrates another reason players speak highly of their time in Pittsburgh.
