Stephen A Smith has us at 5th today on his show. I think that’s probably about right.
AFC is like the old BCS before the playoff. It's a race to 14 wins. Thunderdome...7 teams enter, 1 team leave.
I have never known SAS to be right abt anything
We also didn't have a real QB playing either
He's annoying and predictable. Always starts with some underlying soft tone of speech and by the 2 minute mark is screaming his brains out trying to prove his initial point.
if we lose a single game then we will be "overrated" again. Opinions change on a weekly basis.
Every time we are ranked high we lay a turd
Since there seems to be an agreement about the pointlessness of power rankings perhaps a more on point discussion would be if this record is result of the current global situation that we are facing or if it is just the Steelers time where everything is falling into place, stacking wins and improving every week.
True. But the last time it was discussed, we were being led by a deer and a duck. It really didn't have the teeth that this season does. We were also discussing it based on how much he was doing with so little, and the resurgence of an elite defense. When Ben went down, our expectations went down with him. This season, the expectations are much higher, and to this point, he hasn't unimpressed.
Lol, just playing down to the level of competition.
I'm not referring to last season, I'm referring to 2018.
I don't remember there being any coach of the year talk last season.
But he sure is loud.
Just like these rankings!!
There was a lot of talk about Tomlin being in the running for COTY in 2019, from fans and the media, after starting 1-4 he got the team to 8-5.
I was referring to a specific thread that was started in this forum when the Steelers were 7-2-1 and on a 6 game winning streak in 2018. After that thread was started the Steelers dropped 3 games in a row and ultimately finished 9-6-1 and were out of the playoffs.
I don't remember a specific thread in this forum from 2019 about Tomlin being considered for coach of the year (except a spoof).
Ah I don’t know.
Nothing matters if they don’t win the Division.
power rankings are dumb.
This was supposed to be a discussion on how we stack up against other teams. The power rankings just gave a starting point for the discussion. It has nothing to do with the validity of power rankings. But since the original post asked about making a case for us being the second best team in the NFL at this point in the season, let's just spend two pages repeating that power rankings are meaningless. Some of you couldn't stay on topic if you were standing on it.
The Power rankings are fun and I enjoy seeing different peoples take on how they rank the teams, but they really don't mean much.
Way to drive my point home.
Careful, don't step on that topic. Nevermind, you missed it.
Don't worry.... Steelers will drop down to 10 or lower after they lose to Titans.
Hey!! Heinz is back! Someone hacked your account and started talking positively for a day or so. You should change your password.
You mean when he was just letting Ben fling it around to set his personal stat records so they could sit at home and watch the postseason? Its funny how people are hanging off MT's balls because he finally started coaching his squad after sucking ass. He is finally trying to have a balanced offense, and what do you know, they are kicking ass.
So far, so good.
I'm waiting for Ben to decide his arm is back 100%, then get the itch to set some new personal bests.
