    I really liked the thought of picking cb Pierre Desir at that spot. He ended up going to the browns and I think he was inactive most game days. They're pretty deep at cb so maybe that's why he didn't see the field.

    The thing that had me leery of Desir was the level of competition other than his all star game. I watched some of his game film, but it was hard to get a feel for whether he was sudden enough to handle an NFL receiver when he went up against a bunch of WRs who will never sniff an NFL roster in his college career. I didn't see dominance when I watched him at that level of competition, just competence, and that scared me.

    Same here. I was cool with taking a late shot at him, but he definitely was a big question mark for the reason you mentioned.

    He has been in heavy rotation these last few weeks, with Haden's shoulder injury, and the slow development of Justin Gilbert.
    I shake my head, and wish he was in Black & Gold. With his length, all he has to do is stay near his man…

    I am not so sure there was a problem with the extension as much as what they paid him? This was my question/problem when we extended him.
