    According to Dale Lolley

I say thanks but good riddance. He was good for maybe 4-5 years then grossly overrated the rest of his career. A center needs to be able to snap and his ability was questionable at best. He also wasn't much of a blocker the last few years.

He'll be easily replaced with a better snapper at a fraction of the cost.

I barely saw a difference when he was in TBH. Except the snaps were more accurate.

Wow, I just posted how I think Ben will come back but now I’m thinking he will announce his retirement next. Pouncey always said he would leave when Ben does. That very well may be what they were discussing on the bench after the game.

Thanks for everything, Pouncey! You were a great center, hope we can get someone to live up to your standards. :steelflag:

Pouncey said he's retiring when Ben does, so Ben's retirement must be imminent

All this tells me that Offensive Center is now a top priority now. Creed Humphrey from the University of Oklahoma is a prime target. Josh Myers from Ohio State University is another. Landon Dickerson is a good Second or Third Round option for certain.

Not surprised after seeing him and Ben not wanting to leave the field.

Ben looked pretty resigned himself. Juju also was with them. They may be all gone.

about 3 years to late..I always thought he was to small to play Center in the NFL...He could have had a better and longer career at Guard..

It's clearly time...…… great athletes have a hard time admitting when father time has got the best of them... that admission usually doesn't happen until it's too late and they've embarrassed themselves and their team...…. Thank you for the years of dominance and continuing the tradition at the position, but your time has come

QB will be on the table in 2022 as 2021 has insufficient resources to allocate the trade to even move up to get one. If anything, even if the team finds Ben's successor, all I see is a very depleted Offensive Line in front of him a la Sam Darnold. Build that line first.

Much like how Big Ben had a great line in the 2000s, whomever Big Ben's successor is needs to have the same level of protection. If not, another Sam Darnold case will emerge.

    @Blast Furnace

    Landon Dickerson: University of Alabama

    Josh Myers: Ohio State University

    Creed Humphrey: University of Oklahoma

Look them up. All stellar options for Center. Of the three for me, Creed Humphrey please.

I like Pouncey he seemed like a good teammate and good guy, was exteremly solid earlier in his career.
But I feel that he was a bit over rated the last 5 years.

I think when you a Center for the Steelers its like being QB for the Cowboys your just automatically given the title as good.

I put Pouncey behind Webster and Dawson any day the old times tell me Ray Mansfield was an awesome center too, maybe he was ahead of him.

Loved Maurkice in his prime but the past 2 years he has really struggled just snapping the ball. I wish him nothing but the best going forward.

Jeff was extremely solid and one the Super Bowl XL with the Steelers, but he played a lot his years with the Lions as a guard and he switched to Center.

Love him but it's well overdue. That bench moment after the game sure looked like this was coming. I hope a few others follow...

Should we draft either one, I am sure you will turn around the player themselves. As for the team?! Of that....

.... I leave up to you!! :drinks:

He didn't besmirch the Steelers center continuum.

Hope they get another good one.
