My biggest complaint would be Watson taking the kickoffs out of the end zone. Granted, he only had a couple of opportunities, but he would have been better just taking a knee.

I understand that, I'm just saying the defense really didn't play great, they got lucky.

Were we watching the same game? They harassed the Flacco all game, did well against the pass and against the run too except for one big play.

You know who didn't play great? Again?Big Ben.
I'm normally a big fan but he hasn't looked all that great so far. Another problem is the continuing, stupid penalties. Our O line was fantastic though. Big props to them and Bell.

4 sacks, 2 interceptions, 1 fumble, and 9 points allowed isn't negated by one freaking run.

Again you missed my point. 9 points allowed but they didn't stop the Ravens or keep them from scoring, the Ravens did it themselves. 3, and yes, I know the would've could've argument, 3 sure TDs that the Steelers had no hand in stopping from happening. There are pros on each side of the field and teams will score but saying the defense is good is just like last season, everyone was like, "the D is great" when playing Tyrod Taylor and the like and then we play a Flacco lead team and needed last minute heroics because the D couldn't stop him. We then play in the AFCCG and allowed 36 completions with ZERO passes defended and while this is a new season I see the same thing because we have over rated players. Artie Burnt will cost this team at least 2 games if not more, he dances and celebrates when he doesn't defend anything, he relies on poor passes or dropped balls and if he is even remotely close to a receiver when a ball comes his way I'd be willing to bet my house it is a PI penalty and 4 out of 5 times I'd win that bet. I'm actually pleased with how that game turned out but I can't say they played a great game because those balls the Ravens dropped weren't just complete passes, you're talking TDs and 2 of them would have been over 40 yards, so if the Steelers still have a lead the 50 yard run that lead to another TD costs the team a win, that isn't great defense, that is sheer, unadulterated luck, nothing more. The defense played a solid game but they have so many issues that when they see a real QB it isn't going to be pretty because at this point the offense isn't good enough to put up the 35 points that will be needed to keep it even close. If my prediction is wrong I'll gladly eat crow with a smile on my face but I'm fearing we are all in for a major wake up when this defense faces a good QB, not great but good. And if you need proof just look at the Browns, the only game Kizer has even looked remotely like an NFL QB was against us, the only game they scored more was against the Colts who right now could stop a high school team from putting up double digits. As I said, the stats are very misleading and I hate looking at them because it is going to lead to disappointment, now if the offense was playing up to what it should be capable of, well that makes things a little better as the team can compete with better QBs but right now, with the secondary this team fields along with a porous run D that has given up 5 runs of over 20+ yards in the last 2 games leaves little to be excited for and doesn't exactly instill confidence, sorry.

You can literally go through any game between any two teams and find missed plays like the OP is talking about on both sides.

Its about as weak an argument you can find.

It’s beyond silly. It’s like our defense is only good if it gets 10 sacks 5 fumbles allows negative yards and negative points

I agree to a point. But Ravens did "shoot themselves" a number of times... more than average.

Talk about a team that blew some opportunities... Redskins last night vs. Chiefs.

'Skins should have won that game. Chiefs may be undefeated, but they are vulnerable. Steelers would be 2nd seed right now if playoffs started. Gotta keep that up.

That this post game complaint thread is so popular after a 17 point win in Baltimore has me questioning whether some folks are simply delusional about the modern day NFL. Somehow a franchise that has been to the playoffs for 3 straight seasons, won 3 playoff games in 2 years, and reached the conference championship game last year is a failure. There are 31 other teams out there who are also trying to win. They're also trying to build championship rosters, and in most cases have been drafting ahead of us for decades. This is parity folks. Yes, the Pats have seemed immune to parity, but they are a singularity in today's NFL. Evil genius (cheater) coach and the most cerebral, mentally tough QB of all time. If the only yardstick for measurement is a comparison to the Pats, then all franchises dating back to the Dallas team that win 3 titles in 4 years are failures.

We are one of many teams with strengths and flaws who have a legit chance at winning a title this year. Yes, we have some deficiencies. So does every other contender. Anyone see the Seattle O line lately? The Pats defense? The Raiders were humbled by Washington even before Carr's injury. Denver's offense is bad. The Chiefs- well, we beat them twice last season. Atlanta- see home loss this weekend. We're in it, and that's where we need to be right now. It's a long season, and every team will see its fortunes ebb and flow. Saddle up.

Not to be overly critical but you should really invest some time in paragraphs. It's possible that you are typing on a smart phone but holy moly that's a wall of text. Not saying you have to have bulleted topic points or organization like AskQuestionsLater but maybe try separating one thought from the next.

I think you’re close, but leaving out that every member of the opposing team has to be a future member of the hof. We are also not allowed to give up an inch via the run and every pass should be batted down or intercepted.

If the Chiefs are "vulnerable", I don't want to know what that makes us. Steelers are going to have to play their best ball in years when they come to Arrowhead in a couple weeks. Living in Kansas City, I am not looking forward to it.

We beat them last year without scoring a td and our defense has significantly improved since then.

September (preseason) is over. October is usually when the Steelers round into form. We'll see. I'm one of the most negative people here, but I'll do my best to reserve judgment until after the Chiefs game.

The only thing that matters is points allowed in my opinion, and after 4 games we rank # 3 in points allowed if we keep it up the chefs will fall when we get to them and we should be playing our best ball........

so much this. People expect to be a juggernaught week in and week out. People forget there are other teams with nfl caliber players who have adequate coaches lol. Anyone is able to lose at any given time, then factor in the injuries, bad calls, drops, bad momentum shifts etc. So many variables. Just win and move on. KC is doing that

I'm tired of hearing excuses when we win a game, their QB was out, their QB wasnt playing well, their team had injuries, on and on it goes, ben is garbage, bell has lost a step, we cant stop the run, here we are 3-1 after 4 games on top of the division and instead of feeling good about our team we want to tear them down, our defense is #3 in the league for points allowed, thats not the mark of a bad defense that says they can stop teams from scoring, does every player need to be scrutinized for not playing a perfect game, I say no because no player can play a perfect game, and finally no team has to apologize for a win when they beat an NFL team on their schedule, and no fan should be unhappy with a winning record.............

KC looked great on O. They ran multiple sets and multiple looks from those sets . They also showed multiple options on almost every play . The TE in nothing but the truth. The RB is a hit the gap and exploit the D type of guy.He can take any run to the house . Hill is becoming a great WR using his speed to get open on quick routes.Alex is showing good mobility and is making good throws on the run as well.

IMO this O is the most dangerous in the NFL . The skins played them very well , but KC still kept working and adjusting to become effective .IMO KC is the cream of the crop . Those guys play as a Team and they run every play like they are the primary option. True Team play if they can continue that this Team will be very hard to beat .

Ok... I'm generally not superstitious, BUT, your prediction of a 31-6 win Sunday has me concerned. We need your pessimistic prognostications to help provide a karma counterbalance. Take one for the team and revise that prediction, man!

And the Chiefs offense is completely different than what we faced last year because they now have a running game and vertical passing attack. Their running attack is better than the Bears and the Bears shredded us, without the threat of a QB. If the Steelers (and coaches) take the "we handled them last year" mindset, we will lose by at least two touchdowns.
