The last 3 games has had a guy that just tore this defense apart.

No. But I do think having Farrior, Foote, Da Beard, Ike, Troy, Timmons, Woodley, and Casey might have made a difference. LOL. I'm just saying I wish we could go back in time and bring our championship defense to the present is all. Fire up the Delorean!

I know man. It's horrible. AB did his best Tomlin impersonation in reverse.

The offense is pitiful, if they could just muster 35 points a game everything would be find, expecting the defense to keep a team from scoring 30 points is asking for a lot, don't you think?

I wish it was 2008 as well.

Speaking of Casey (kind of)... was McClendon out most of the game? I saw Hood come back in.

Agreed and we will. I personally believe in Lebeau and his system but I'm not sure if a change at the coordinator position might be best at this time. I think the problem is and has been personnel. The reason we play a bend don't break style was shown when Cortez Allen got burned by a Clay the Tight End on third down. Mind you this was not Wallace that burned our DB but the Tight End. That play stands out for me along with the 3rd down whiff by Troy, and the second whiff by Troy and Allen I believe for the TD. I wonder what a faster defensive team might be capable of. On a positive note I DO see what a combo of McClendon, Wordlis and Jones could be, along with a good sideline to sideline ILB to go with Timmons and we can be formidable again (imagine if we had someone at ILB to bring a blitz every now and then).
This game was not lost because of coaching, it was lost because of personnel and the lack of execution (primarily on Defense)

I agree in part. Basically, Clay beat us today, and giving up those big 3rd down conversions and those missed tackles on him.

The thing is, when the games/halves the players have executed, the team has looked strong. But execution has just been way, way down this season. Play is a little sloppy. Is this because of the change in personnel? The decline of the older vets, the inexperience of the younger guys? Take Cortez Allen, for example - he's been very inconsistent all season long. Does this mean that he comes back next year as a shut-down corner, or is he simply an inconsistent player?

I thought our pass offense looked good for the conditions. No picks and lots of great conversions on 3rd down.

But when we let a team not use to playing in these conditions move on us all day in our own stadium, red flags should be raised.

This game should have been a low scoring running game. Instead if was a high flying big scoring game. That suggests on a minimal level that our offense was solid and our defense was wretched.

Defense is too old and too expensive. We have held onto them for too long and now are paying them superstar salary when they are no longer able to play like superstars. This has an effect on both sides of the ball as too much money is tied up in a few older players. We have also not drafted well in the early rounds. I keep thinking about drafting Troy, Ben and Heath in the first round of three drafts in a row. We haven't drafted anywhere near that level since.

Well, my beloved Steelers fail again. A couple of comments:

    - we need to stop using the lineup of two dline and two linebackers. This formation always gets us gashed on run plays. I seen the packers use it and they are just as terrible as we are.

    - we need a new ILB. Vince Williams is just a two down player and we need another linebacker to stay on the field so we won't get gashed on those running plays.

    - Why do our Defense goes in the tank after the offense scores? It's been a pattern for a while. And Why does the offense think after it gets a lead it can be conservative? It's been a pattern for a while. If the coaches haven't notice the defense isn't that good anymore and the offense doesn't have a running game that can milk the clock. All about coaching.

Yeah, I actually went to take a piss, because I figured there was no way in hell we could pull out another miracle...
    And we almost did...
Guess you only get one "Immaculate" play per lifetime...
Gotta love that they kept swingin....
Gotta hate that it came down to that, and so many other "shoulda woulda coulda`s" this year...
    GO STEELERS!

Should be called post season complaint thread, as this season is over. I don't expect them to beat the bungholes. But I'm still going to root for the to do so.

Not running the ball enough, bad defense, Tomlin not throwing the challenge flag on a couple of plays...

    :yahoo:I tried anyway.

Sadly, it's over now, except for technically being eliminated. As for hineswarden, I think he is waiting for someone to give him a cookie.

My post game loss complaint, we don't have a football smart team. How does AB step out of bounds there? He had plenty of room, bone head plays like that doom this team a lot. The very first game of the season, I think that was the game the doofus TE didn't cover up his fumble that was lying right next to him. I don't know how you fix that, I don't know if you can put that on the coaches, I think the old cliche, you can lead a horse to water but can't make him drink applies here.
