I can blame this loss on Tomlin with one word: Wildcat.

You are correct, it was risky but it worked.

I was listening to WDVE's post game show with Stan Savran and Charlie Batch and they liked the decision. Basically, Tomlin was concerned about the disparity in "unseen yards". If you think about it, it's the kick off and punt return difference in yards that was the hidden major factor in this loss. The bad decision by Holton on the opening kickoff and the bad offensive play calling on that series afforded Baltimore excellent field position on their opening drive. Baltimore's ST's badly outplayed ours, as has every team for as long as I can remember. They put Switzer back there and his best move is the fake fair catch. Apparently, they value his ability to not muff kicks more so than they do to put someone back there that could actually help their field position. They have no field flippers on either the punt or kick off return squads.

Too many fans want to point their finger a JuJu for the loss but sometimes you have to tip your cap to the other guy who made one hell of a defensive play. As far as Mark Madden's tweet? Who cares what he has to say? He's no different than that moron Shannon "Marble Mouth" Sharpe or his tag team partner, Skip Brainless. They are shock sports "media" and nothing more.

It was a poorly officiated game but the roughing call against Odenyi was particularly troubling. Thomas should have been ejected for his hit on Rudolph. That whole crew needs to be disciplined by the league. If you are doing your jobs, there should be know need for "even up" calls.

Plus, this offense isn't getting enough out of the turnovers that the defense is giving them. I think both Rudolph and Hodges need not be coddled. Let these dudes play. They both had enough talent to make the roster, let them show you why you had faith in them to begin with. You, as coaches sure as hell don't have anything to lose now.

The Fitzpatrick trade was fantastic. He’s going to be around a while and will be a big part of this defense. In that trade they addressed a huge need and did it with minimal cost and cap hit.

    Brilliant move.

I feel bad for juju. Sure the fumble “ended” the game, but there were plenty of boneheaded decisions on the part of the coaching staff and poor execution before that that contributed to the loss. The big issue with this team, top to bottom, is inconsistency. Just enough good plays to offset the dumb ones to keep us hopeful, but never quite enough to close the deal.

I agree with almost all of this. That being said I just watched a clip of JUjU explanation of the play. Yes Humphries made a nice play but I don’t think JUJU should be giving him all the credit. JUJU said it feels terrible but he didn’t take responsibility for it( unless I missed it) Yes give the defender credit but also admit you have to do a better job protecting the football whether it’s legitimate or not. You have to “ own” that like Tomlin would say. Unless I’m missing something JUJU isn’t owning up and that’s a problem for me. Players need to be accountable no matter how good a play the opponent made.

It is all his fault. Tell me the last time this team came prepared day in and day out? Tell me when they learned from their mistakes. Tell me when they did anything relevant besides become perennial losers.

This team has had gobs of talent and absolutely nothing to show for it. Tomlin won one Superbowl with Cowhers team.

Now look, Cowhers team is completely gone now with Ben injured, 1-4 and soon 1-5. How many playoff wins in the last decade? Whats his record? How many ****ing disgusting losses have they had in playoffs?

Tim Tebowed, Madden like stats vs our D
Bad game ending fumble against Broncos
New England trouncing us, like always, when do they ****ing learn?
    Jacksonville beating us at home

Thats just some terrible playoff games, plenty of bad **** in regular season.

Pittsburgh has had enough talent to see the AFC Championship game several times, maybe even a few Superbowls. This is one of the biggest wastes of talent that I've ever seen.

Just as bad as the OKC Thunder and guess what the common denominator is?

    ****ing coaching.

Mark Madden is a fat hunk of sh!t. The day he leaves the airwaves will be the day that quality sports talk radio in Pittsburgh takes a huge step forward.

Agree. I mean hell, how many teams would have been down to their third QB and still had a chance to win the game? Despite questions about the ability of the coaching staff, this team played their asses off today and I appreciated that effort even though they didn't win.

I don't tune in anymore since I got satellite radio. He only let's callers in so he can belittle them or if they say they agree with him. If they start to make him look like an idiot, he hangs up. His ball, his playground......but he's nothing but a buffoon.

Well, he doesn't run the offense, or the defense, or do anything, really. So long as Art is good with that, it's about how terrible our coordinators are.

Yeah I just unfollowed him on Facebook after starting about a month ago.

Got tired of his silly baiting and belittling posts. Most of the time they were him making up issues that didn’t exist and then calling people idiots.

I know he’s a Howard Stern fan so I think he’s going for the controversial shock-jock thing but with less talent.

Yeah, but that gets messy. It's easier to just blame Tomlin. Point and fire. A different coach would clean house anyway, I assume.(not that I think that's on the horizon)

Sounds like the Steelers are putting out a spin on the cart for MR not working. Dulac I believe is saying that the cart not working was operator error not mechanical and MR wanted to walk off on his own. Sounds like BS to me. So you let a player that was knocked out cold make that decision? Operator error? What he’s not trained to operate a friggin cart. Didn’t realize it was a rocket ship. As disappointed as I am in the loss I’m even more disappointed and embarrassed by how the situation with MR was handled. Just awful....

Maybe we're overthinking the decision to kick the ball to start OT. Maybe Tomlin didn't want the team to be handcuffed by the short kick and start inside the 20 again.
