Executive Producer is still the star of the show I'm afraid. Until AR II pulls the trigger, Tomlin is going to keep writing the scripts.

That was absolute peak Tomlin let down disaster, flat from the outset, beaten by a lousy team that did eberything to hand the Steelers for a win and they couldn't take advantage.

The game actually over after the first 2 stains drives, never even tied the game...

Obviously I dont have to tell you about the pedigree of a Shaduer Sanders, there was a reason we looked at him during the predraft process and I think that bore out today. Make no mistakes though this game was ultimately about our failures to turn turnovers in points and our execution was not as sharp as it should be. I will take that on my shoulders, you can paint me with that broad brush. We are going to get back in the lab sort some stuff out and get ready for AFC North football next week.

 

It looked like they had one practice this week and just pumped weights all day in the gym instead? The refs were throwing flags at some very questionable calls on the Steelers and somehow managed to ignore at least the PI on the last Steeler offensive play. Rodgers was doing his best to keep it together, but a few dropped balls here and some well timed flags on the Steelers kept it out of touch.

 

So a team playing without DK, Austin and Washington was supposed to win today?
We do not have the personnel to be down that many key players and win.

Look, you guys can so all the Fire Tomlin nonsense that you want, but until you accept the reality that is no team wins super bowls, or even late stage playoffs without a franchise QB, you will always be disappointed. Unless and until the Steelers are so bad for a few years that they can draft a top 10 QB, this will always be our fate. Our defense keeps us in a lot of games, but our offense is second rate at best. Pickett, Rudolph, Wilson, and a 42 year old Rodgers aren’t winning playoff games and not coming close to super bowls.

 

Can some billionaire PLEASE make a reasonable offer to the Rooney's to purchase the team? They obviously no longer have any ambition or desire to put a quality product on the field. Nine years and counting since our last playoff win.

The last 3 plays were just bad WR isnt pickens or metcalf. Not going to win a physical jump ball. He f’d up the prior two plays. Muth open on 3rd down and then gainwell wide open on 4th. Rodgers was going to nobody else he was still talking to mvs as they broke the huddle. That was on him. We needed muth or washington there alas washington out and muth geta no look!

Well, your prediction isn't correct yet I don't know why you're celebrating already. That would be like the first thing you have been right about all season .

 

Predicting the correct record for the steelers would not be a small feat even if it was easy for the steelers since this is the same movie every year.....I also finish in the top 10 in a 100 people survival pool,so you are wrong again

 

This teams issues are much deeper than this loss. Although this loss is a microcosm of our issues. The team is always comes out flat in opportune times. I feel like the only way we respond is when our backs are against the wall. I feel like it’s a lack of discipline issue. It’s Christmas week and we’re going against a 3-10 team. I’m sure the players did a little less preparation and film study. For whatever reason Tomlin doesn’t like rules and her certainly doesn’t like to enforce the few he has.

Had we been better structured and disciplined as an organization then you aren’t without Watt and DK this game. We should have personnel on the sideline to prevent player fan interactions. We also need to have bettter training personnel and you wouldn’t have what happened to Watt. Last year it was Strength and Conditioning that had Wilson get injured pushing a sled. This kind of stuff is on Rooney. Spend money on the right people and facilities.


regarding the loss today there were some puzzling play calls. Why throw deep on fourth down when you’re only down by? Either go for it with a high percentage play or kick the field goal. On the missed field goal something is up. I don’t think it is Boswell. Not impressed with Walkman as the place holder or quite frankly as the punter this year. Kurtz has been struggling as well. Perhaps it has gotten to Boswell.

The other thing why are we throwing it to MVS so much at crucial points. Get it to Gainwell or Friermuth they are on the same page as Rodgers and they have the best hands on the team. With all of that being said I knew it was going to be tough with all #4 wr’s at best on the field starting for us. I never understood bringing in Rodgers and not providing him with a good #2 wr.

I do think in spite of the defense making some big plays we need to fix this pass defense next year. We can continue to get picked apart. It doesn’t matter whether in zone or man we seem to get either way. They need a new DC and secondary coach and mlb coach. We should never have given up a Ted to Samders.

i hope they load up with at least two more wr’s in the offseason and through the draft. Maybe a Juan Jennings and a first or second round wr.

 

I said before the game... NOT surprised if Steelers lose out and go 9-8.

 

I mean... QB, ILB, OG and Corner are pieces that do need a tune up. That said, you are right overall. Definitely do but who knows if or when that happens.
