    MY TAKE:

#7 did not look the same coming back from injury:
    before injury: 209 of 316 (66.1 comp%) with 17 TDs and 4 INTs
    after injury: 60 of 110 (54.5 comp%) with 6 TDs and 4 INTs

That's a pretty significant difference. I know he was cleared and all but its obvious he was not the same. Whether it was the injury or rust, I don't know, but #7 is STILL an elite QB in my eyes. I really saw ALOT of poor throws since he has come back from injury, almost like his mechanics are off. Possible effect of the shoulder injury? Give him an off season, he will be back next year!

Also - I know "The Standard is the Standard", but excuse me if I don't buy into it.

    Games Missed:
    #7 - 3.5
    #74 - 4
    #53 - 1
    #66 - 12
    #77 - 10
    #76 - 5
    #84 - 3
    #89 - 2
    #33 - 2
    #34 - 10
    #27 - 3
    #92 - 3
    #56 - 3
    #43 - 9
    #25 - 1
    #24 - 3

Seeing the big picture now? I know GB overcame a couple of years ago with similar injuries, but still, it's not easy. Our O-line simply could not stand up over time with the rash of injuries.

From a coaching perspective, this was not a great year for Mike Tomlin. Alot of mistakes made. As for Todd Haley, like #7, he was doing GREAT things up until the time of Ben's injury. Let's give them another off-season and see where they are at. For those shouting for CHANGE, all I ask is who will replace them?

For the past 6 weeks, whenever I need a laugh I head over to the Giants message board after one of their losses and see the mob lining up to get rid of Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin. I know expectations are high, but let's get real.

Mike Tomlin, despite coaching here for 6 years still has not been able to put HIS stamp on this team. Why? Dick Lebeau is still in town. Noone can appreciate more what Lebeau has done for this team more than me and nobody has more love for the 3-4 than me. But it IS time for CHANGE. We have been drafting hybrid type players (Hood, Heyward, Worilds, Carter, Spence...). This is a TURNOVER league now with the proliferation of the passing game. We NEED to create more turnovers, just not limit big plays. Lebeau will never be fired, but hopefully he will enjoy his retirement after this season and let Tomlin bring in his Tampa-2 style defense. Create Pressure & intercept passes, that is the recipe for championship defense now.

I would like to tip my hat to #78. The ONLY Steelers offensive player to play EVERY snap. Picked off the scrap heap yet again, Can we give this guy a 2-3 year deal PLEASE?

We need to fix the RB situation. #27 can start, but is probably best in a backup role. #33 is a great short yardage/goal line back. #34 - See ya! Go get a FA RB who can carry the load!

2012 was and is a disappointing season. Marred by injuries and questionable coaching decisions, I don't believe this season is indicative of where the Steelers are heading.

Get healthy. Transition the defense. Draft playmakers on defense. Fix the Running game. I truly believe if we accomplish these tasks, we will be back next year.:applaud:

Great post, NB. Somewhat mind boggling that Max was the only guy to play every snap on offense. I would never have believed that if you told me that last January. I really hope we can get some youth in that position within the next couple years, though. :)

Agreed- great analysis. Getting healthy is huge. As I've posted already, I see RB as the #1 need. A big time RB producer takes some heat off of Ben and keeps the defense off the field. The other 3 teams in the division all have this player (Rice, Green-Ellis, Richardson)- we need one too. Whether it is the draft or via FA, this player, as yet unknown, may be the key to 2013.
