I am not defending Ben but it also looks like Wallace is running his routes lazy it just appears he doesn't care. Ironic the last two games Ben went to him in clutch situations and was picked.

On good note it looks like Decastro can recover a fumble when he gets his ass beat :)

I said it before and thankfully I won't have to say it again til maybe next year . We are a stupid, stupid football team and don't expect that to change anytime soon ,unless these players are forced to and lead by example. It's time to put a higher mark on wonderlic scores starting with this years draft. Slight tongue in cheek, but we need guys with better football awareness. This game is being dominated by the cerebral just wingin it ain't getting it done no more. Can you hear me ,Ben?

The whole season was like this, when the offense was scoring points the defense couldn't stop anyone and when the defense is playing great the offense is lousy. Ben hasn't been good but it looks as if he is playing scared, guys not catching the ball, an oline that is pretty bad, in fact with no running game we have to rely on a QB who isn't 100%. I think the offense will be fine next season if they can keep starters on the oline from season ending injury in the preseason. The defense needs an overhaul, they play ok against mediocre QBs but get shredded against a good QB. I really hope they release Ziggy Hood, the guy dances with the guy he needs to beat, the only game he shed any blocks was against a team with an oline that was worse than ours and that was the Eagles. Maybe it is time to get a vertern CB or DT through FA to shore up the bad areas. This team isn't good and I blame Tomlin as he never did anything to shore up the weak areas.

What a waste of a great defensive performance, and for not the first time. Let's see, the Steelers lost, what 5 games this year by 3 points? WTF?

Win even 2 of those, and you go to the playoffs.

I'm really upset now, so I'm going to say 2 things I may regret later:

1- I'm not sure I'm going to watch the game next week.
2- This is the worst job of coaching I've seen for a Steelers team in the 40 years I've watched them. Mental errors ruined the season.

I've been spoiled by this team, and I'll be back, like always. This is only the 5th time in the last 21 years that they've gone into the final week without a chance to make the playoffs. This is as low as they have sunk in the Ben era. Only place to go now is up.

With the offensive ineptness today, you thought they would win the game had it gone to OT? Trying that 54 yarder was the only shot we had at winning the game, Tomlin knew this.

They should've just played for overtime if you going throw to Wallace in that situation throw it deep down field you may get a pass interference call instead of those sideline patterns. They need to have the qb roll out and move the pocket once in awhile, also if you are backed up inside your own 20yd line run the ball don't be throwing on 1st down.

the defense finally did everything i wanted them to do and was complaining that they werent doing. they forced turnovers and got sacks which put the offense in pretty good field position.

i guess the offense really is that bad.

on a brighter note. the young DBs look pretty good.

I agree, spot on. I kept thinking we could get things rolling, this team just doesn't have it in them, too much wrong.

Apparently, Haley is allergic to going deep down the field, even know it accounted for our only TD today. It's like, ok, BA is gone so we are only going to go deep 3 times the whole year.

Should see this organization back to the playoffs in a couple of years. Shame the D busted their ass today just to have the offense lose it for them...incompetent coaches, rookies..non achivers, old players, injury prone (both sides) along with a QB that has ran his course. Pittsburgh has alot of work ahead of them..on that note adios amigos!!!

It wasn't like the D was letting them score at will in the second half. I agree OT was the best option. I was screaming that when we got the ball back in our end with bad field position. He played with fire once with the long field goal and was saved from a bad decision. That is what concerns me with Tomlin he doesn't seem to learn as the game goes on and make good decisions or learn from past games. Maybe Tomlin forgot what happened in Dallas last week or how his QB had previous interception in todays game or how his QB has not made good decesion in many games this year.

I agree totally that this team is absolutely football stupid and that can't be fixed! We are just flat out football stupid. I can't understand how we can be this dumb. But do you really think the Rooney's are gonna tolerate stupidity. It's one thing to lose. It's another thing to lose stupidly. That's how we do it though. Ask the Titans. They will agree. We can't even simply just SNAP THE BALL to make a field goal. Is THAT playing with a sense of urgency?

Also unfair or not David DeCastro got his butt kicked all OVER that field today and I think he also has to shoulder some of this blame because he played like crap.

    The really sad thing?

I didn't get to see the match. So I just checked NFL.com and saw the score. And I could imagine precisely what happened in the game.

THen I come on here to see what you guys are saying - and it seems I imagined absolutely correctly.

Simply awful. What the hell happened to us this season?

I hope you're only referring to the offense.

The defense played like champions, today, IMO.
