Once I saw Wallace's dropped catch in the endzone in the first quarter, the blocked punt, and the Allen and Pouncey injuries, I had to stop watching. What an incredible disappointment this year's team continues to be.

Was I the only one that thought the dropped ball in the endzone in the first quarter (maybe beginning of second) was a missed touchdown? Looked totally catchable to me and Wallace just seemed to have it bounce off his hands. At that moment, I said to the old man, "that four points right there? that's what's gonna burn us in this game".

it's just not his style to scream at a player like a banshee.

wouldn't be a problem if he'd get his message across nevertheless like many other "laid back" coaches have done. which sadly he does not seem to

I'm seeing a split with the Rats and a loss to the Giants. 11-5
Should be good enough for a wild card game.

At this point, the best team to draw in the wildcard round will be the Patriots. Houston will likely be 1 seed. Rats 2 seed. SD or Denver will be 3 or 4 seed. NE will make it, not because they are as good as they used to be, but because their division is as bad as its ever been.

For the first time this year, I no longer expect them to go to the superbowl. Can things still get better? Yes, because we know these players have been there and done it before. If this is like 2009, remember we almost made the playoffs. Had Ben not had a concussion, wouldn't have lost 5 in a row. 2006 was awful frustrating too. Just keep in mind, this is an 8-8 league.

There are 2 wildcards, one to either SD or Denver. Then who? Jets suck. Titans suck (yes I know, I watched the game) Bills suck, Dolphins suck, Colts suck, Jagoffs suck, KC sucks, Raiders suck, Browns suck. That leaves the Bengals and Steelers. Which means next week matters. :herewego:

With the problems we have shown, I'm not remotely confident that we will only lose 2 more games this season. I'll be there rooting my heart out each week, but I'm not confident.

I held that in all day at work today. I feel a little better now.

hey - look at this on the bright side - at least our defense didn't let the Titans stomp on the Terrible Towel last night. So we have that going for us!

Face the facts this season is over

By Steelers standards getting in the playoffs and making a Superbowl run. Nobody in the secondary can cover and to make matters worse the pass rush is nonexistent. This team is going nowhere all the analysts were right old and slow. Every game another 2 or 3 players go down with injuries. I'm thinking about next year already time to reload. When you can't stop average qb's like Hasselbeck and Palmer your team has serious problems. I'm looking forward to the salary cap relief in 2013 get rid of these washed up veterans Hampton, Foote, Kiesel. I think Clark and Mendenhall are free agents both could be gone also.

    Boom!

Terrible call there. Too much time left on the clock and too deep in territory to risk a miss, which is of course what happened. For as conservative as they played once they got past the 50 they should've stuck with it and punted. Two games in a row now that playcalling has been too conservative with the game on the line. Suish bailed us out vs the Eagles but his luck ran out last night. Have to play to score TD's and not settle for deep FG's, especially with Ben and our WR's.

Horrible call. Anyone else think that Manning or Brady tells the FG unit to go back to the sideline? At least it would have sparked some questioning and maybe a timeout.

Force them to call a time out or hit a Big Play....Send on the punt unit.....Not just any punt unit ,but the special ,,I don't need gunners and this could be a quick kick by Ben or a Offensive play....

Take out the gunners and the punter in this situation and insert the RB'S and the QB...Replace the Gunners with speedy WR'S......Even as hurt as we were at the time this formation would all but force a Time Out......If not then snap a shot gun snap to Ben and send both Gunners Wallace and Brown on 10 and outs ,,and then send both RB'S on wheel routes behind it....

I have ran this type of play a many a time with great success....The key is doing it at the right time and havibg the right guys to do it with.....Well we talk situational Football ,,but we obviously relly don't understand it at this point in time....Because that situation was screaming for a Punt ,,,so show them that with the ability to do a whole lot more...A Time out almost every time,,now Coach T can think about the situation....

If no Time out then run the play they double the Gunners/WR'S and they have 5 guys on the line and 1 deep.....Everytime I have run this play or I have seen it run it leaves the flare/wheel routes wide open or they drop into a punt safe zone and in which case Ben simply looks and sees if the out or flares or there and if not take 2 steaps to the right as you always slant the blocking in this case and pooche punt towards the right sideline...

The best that can happen is you hit the WR on a 10 and out and he takes it to the house....The 2nd best is you hit the flare and he takes it to the house...The 3rd. is you pick up the yardage ,or you drop or miss the pass,or the QB gains field position with the pooch punt...

All are better than the FG attempt as you gain the yardage of the spot even if none of the other stuff works....Situational Football...Hmmm....

Most of the main issues have been raised already.

    I'll add some minor ones.

There were a few plays where Ben seemed to have decided who to throw it to before the play developed. On one early 3rd down it worked because Heath caught it, though I think Wallace was wide open on a safer route, would have got us the yards. Later on, though, he was targetting Brown when he was way, way covered.

And with that - Brown struggled to get open all night. Not sure if it was the pay bein called, or if Brown was having an off day. I know on this board we're meant to idolise Brown and hate on Wallace, but Brown was distinctly average on Thursday - I hope this isn't a slump, because we sure need him (and all the receivers) on top form.

Due to injuries, we seemed to have the wrong personell on when plays did come off. I'm thinking of the huge Redman catch, which was great - but couldn't help feeling when watching that, that if it was Rainey... TD. Still, Redman did have a great game before he exited.

i'll tell you another guy that has been missed and there wasen't anyone withing 20 yds. of him running down the sidelines toward the EZ. will johnson. ben was forcing passes that's for sure and he does it alot. i'm seeing the same thing as before, we have alot of yardage between the 20's but not in the redzone. FG's don't cut it. something is amiss with this offense.

Switching to the 4-3 makes no sense what so ever when you draft players to fit the 3-4. IF you think this defense is bad no watch how long it takes to switch to a 4-3.

Look what happened to Aaron Kampman when GB shifted his position for scheme purposes. Scheme change has to be done to get the most out of players we have, not just for the sake of something different - otherwise, disaster.
