cant believe no one brought up the blocked punt. mundy once again shows he is no good, blew the playoff game for us by running up to the line and blew this game by missing his blocking assignment

We are also one play away from being 1-4. If you can't make the big plays, you don't deserve to win.

The only game we looked better then our opponent in was the Jets game. And they aren't going to win 5 games this year

    I was thinking A.

I think the only reason they went with B...is that his 52 yarder from earlier went probably 53-55 yards...so they said why not lets try it. But instead of getting the same distance they got 52 yards for this one. It was a risk...that ended up going the wrong way.

The blocked punt should collectively go to Mundy AND Warren...they both went to block the same guy...then changed and blocked the other same guy. While there were other mistakes/etc...that play there was the biggest in the game I think.

Yeah, he had a good bit of leg left on the 52, so I figured they felt he could make the 54. Almost there. :(

anyone else thinking of taking a vacation from the board for the next eight days or so? Really can't stand to dissect another disappointing loss coupled with more injuries. At this point we are just going over the same old ground time and time again.

Nope that's on Mundy. Warren has thaat resonsibility when the guy comes across his face and he turned him like he's supposed to do. Mundy hesitated and then went after the same guy.

Also if he just gets in the guys way by standing there he gets it off!

We are old on D. I understand, supposedly, it takes time to learn this defense. But, come on, other teams are starting rookies. Tomlin needs to step up. Use the players he drafted. Put his own stamp on the team. You're a 4-3 cover 2 coach so switch to the cover 2.

    THE ALUMINUM CURTAIN!!!!

Folks we have to be honest here, this is the beginning of the "Aluminum Curtain" defense for some time to come. They all looked like misfits out there Captain Hasselback had all day to throw no discipline what so ever :bscow:

I think I'm with you. I'll still watch the games but there's nothing to get excited about as far as this team is concerned.

For those who are comparing this to the '09 season...this is worse. At least, potentially. Since '91, we've started 2-3 5 times.

    1999 6-10 Finished 4th in division.
    2000 9-7 Finished 3rd in division.
2002 10-5-1 Finished 1st in division, went to playoffs.
    2003 6-10 Finished 3rd in division.
    2006 8-8 Finished 2nd in division.

Doesn't have a bearing on this year's team, but just an interesting compilation of 2-3 starts.

Tes. They are eerily similar to the Lee Flowers, Dwayne Washington D's of yesteryear. It is a bit hard to watch.

I am sad and angry. We are wasting away one of the best NFL QB's... he is not getting younger you know? :frustrated: --- FIRE TOMLIN!!!!

I believe the responsibility falls completely in a coach that should have never been this team's HC. I hope I will have a different opinon of Tomlin before the season ends, but as for now I think he is lazy, gutless and irresponsible.

    Why?

    * 2008, The last SB we won was mainly Cowher inheritance. That year Tomlin was playing with a team and a staff that was developed and educated by Bill Cowher.
    * Then comes 2009... a horrible season and the first one that showed how bad the offensive line was and injuries started to grow at an alarming rate
    * In 2010 the lack of discipline became obvious and reflected on the behavior out of the field, as a consequence Ben and Santonio got in trouble and ultimately it costed Holmes. They made it to the SB and lost thanks to a Secondary that was already showing problems.
    * In 2011 the decay of the Defense was even more clear, the injuries kept rising and the secondary costed many games, including that loss to Terrible Tebow
*2012, they are 2 - 3, 0 on the road and lost to 2 very bad teams that (again) exploit a weak secondary. We are losing key players at an average of 2 - 3 players per game... this is not normal! An Tomlin's decisions have been questionnable more than once. To add insult to injury, the "fabulous" running game they were supposed to develop to "balance" Ben passing game is not there.

If you analize all this, these are not a problems built from one day to the next, all these are problems that the team has been carrying for at least 3 seasons. This is the result bad management and poor execution of the Head Coach

    TURN OUT THE LIGHTS!!!!!

The party is over this team is the "bandaid brigade" no discipline, no heart, injury prone, getting pushed back causing injury's to fellow players don't get me wrong im optimistic but im also a realist we will win a couple more at home but road warriors we will not be and we need to win on the road to have a fighting chance.

    DISTURBING FROM THE HEADCOACH'S MOUTH

    Pregame interview:

    Q. Does the short week affect the substitution patterns?

    A. Potentially, but we feel we have a highly conditioned team. REALLY Coach T ?????? We’re going to keep an eye on some of the younger guys, of course, and some of the heavy-lifting positions, such as Rashard Mendenhall, who will be the primary ball carrier tonight. But largely, we’re just going to snap the ball and play. JUST SNAP THE BALL????
    not gonna unleash He--??

    Q. How did your team handle the short week of preparation before this game against the Titans?

    A. Thankfully, it’s not anything new for us. We’ve probably played in as many of these Thursday night games as anybody over the past 5-6 years."Just alittle over confident you might say" ..... We adjust our plan, our preparation is more mental than physical "NO KIDDING" :? . Our goal is to come into the stadium mentally prepared and fresh physically. Mentally prepared???? "players made bone headed mistakes" :frustrated: and physically fresh??? Players were gassed by the 3rd quarter :bscow: thats why they were getting pushed back causing injuries to each other. From what i take from this interview Coach T thought this was a foresure win and the team had no glaring issues "We loss" :o

What's PATHETIC is he's usually in position. He just has zero awareness for where the ball is, and holds/grabs/mugs when he doesn't even have to!

Let him have it, S. A Smith. I'm on your side now....[/quote:2c4qow8i]
I was at the game tonight and the 4 or 5 titans fans that actually came to the game were cracking up at me because I spent MOST of the night YELLING VERY HARSHLY at Ike and Keenan Lewis. They suck. I hate the idea that they would even be on our practice squad! I kept calling Lewis the "Titans player of the game" all night. Also the titans fans were laughing because I kept congratulating Mike Tomlin for icing Suisham! Keenan Lewis and Ike Taylor are GARBAGE and I've ALWAYS hated Ike Taylor and I always will. I told my buddy that went with me "This stadium is 60% Steelers fans tonight and do you not notice that there are NO Ike Taylor jerseys?!" Then when we left the game I saw ONE guy wearing an Ike jersey and I was like "What a stupid moron! That guy HAS to be a Titans fan to be wearing that!" It's like Ike is a double agent or something. I had a chance to buy tickets buy our tunnel but instead took a pair on the 45 that were 3 rows from the field. I felt bad that I did that after the game because I wanted SO DESPERATELY after that debacle to yell and tell them how bad they suck! They bring nothing to this team whatsoever. If Mr. Rooney would let me pick two people to cut it would be them! They are worthless! Ike is a punk and it made ME mad when he ripped Kenny Britt's helmet off! I'm sick of seeing him and hope that Tomlin will be a man and cut these bums. They are an embarrassment to this fan base! But to think that Mike Tomlin is gonna make the decisions that we ALL can CLEARLY see need to be made is a pipe dream. Tomlin is wearing thin on me as well.

For the first time, I'm ready to say that this team probably will not get it done this year. It reminds me a lot of the 9-7 team from the year after SB 43. They're losing on the road to inferior teams. The defense is gassed - or just plain stinks - in the fourth quarter. The offense can't score touchdowns. I love the Steelers, but this looks like it is shaping up to be one of those years. So what now? Well - they have time to prove me wrong. They haven't played a division game yet - thankfully - and their destiny may lie with how they play the Ravens, Bengals and Browns. I'm hoping they turn it around and begin to stack wins, but now there is a definite pattern that they cannot seem to break. If it is one of those years, it is what it is. They hopefully will take advantage of a fortuitous high draft pick and git 'er done next year.

It all starts on the line of scrimmage.
If you look at the D they get no penetration which makes the secondary look bad.
If you look at the O they can't stop a 3 man rush, which means the running game can't get going.
Ike didn't have a good go but I thought Lewis was OK, it still is his first year as a starter.
Nope I always tend to look at the 1 hundred million dollar man.
You can look at all the plays during the came but the one that got me was Bens last play.
He had to get some yardage and instead of collecting 4 to 5 yards he throws a crappy little pass that goes into the ground.
If he had just kept running instead of trying to pass it would have been a 48 to 50 instead of a 54.
He's paid more than everybody else by a mile it's about time he earnt it.

I wouldn't even know where to start...

Worst lost since 2009 and yes, this team looks very much like it did in 2009. Lethargic and no sense of urgency.

I didn't buy into the whole notion that losing our leadership on Defense would hurt us. I know our D has played poorly even before this season, but this is something else. 26 points to one of the worst teams in the league. I might start getting nervous the closer the Browns game comes up on our schedule.

I'm starting to prepare for life without the playoffs. I think we go 8-8, 9-7 at best. The critics are right I think. Didn't want to believe it, but the black & gold colored g lasses are off. We just aren't very good. We just happen to have an elite QB which makes up for alot of faults.

Don't get me wrong, injuries are very much to blame for where this season is going. Like Tomlin always says "The standard is the standard". Well sir - The standard is pretty damn low from what I've seen. Our schedule is only going to get harder from here on out.

This one has been plaguing us for awhile now, and it just seems to be getting worse this year. And it seems to be a major part of what is happening.

We may have to extend the term "steel curtain" to cover the offense as well as the defense, but rename it to "the glass curtain."
