It didn't help that they had Walker try to cover him one-on-one for a while. It also didn't help that Fitzpatrick had just broken his hand on that last drive in the second half. It was Conner who did most of the damage in the second half and that happened after the lost Roberts. He did nothing until that injury.

It was a terrible move for many reasons. Trubisky is less of a threat on a sneak. He is coming in cold for that play, so there was a good chance of the timing being off. Cole was playing horribly, so there was a good chance of a poor snap, which didn't happen, or Cole getting stood up and pushed back, which did happen. If they don't lose Pickett, I don't hate the decision to go for it, but with the ball just outside the one (bad mark) and that sudden change at quarterback, they should have kicked the damn ball.

Isn't it sad its come to this?

We so fear 3rd or 4th and 1 and getting one crappy yard that we can't understand why we didn't kick a field goal on the 1 YARD LINE!

No excuse to not be able to get 1 yard at least 75% of the time on 3rd or 4th and 1.

Horrible coaching for years has lead us to the "quick, kick the field goal" or "quick, punt the ball" on 4th and short. SO FREAKING SAD.

that’s true, but I think with the way the offense struggles to score you kick the field goal and take the lead and let your defense win it for you. I think we gave the cards a big boost when we went for it (should’ve been a sneak anyway).

When they lined up and it was obvious they were going for it, I was actually hoping he would throw it. Dionte was lined up one on one to wide side of field. But, that would have actually taken some guts

I guess you just forgot. How about losing to a 1st year franchise team Jaguars with a 4-12 record...yet Cowhers team played down to the competition, and lost. Problem is most people don't remember this stuff, or don't want to. Like all the how great we were revisionist on our 2003... 6, and 10 season. LoL

A play is not as hard to defend if You know what's coming. Not I, not the Defense, or anyone thought that they would pass it the very 1st play the backup Qb came in. As soon as KFP came out all surprise of what it was went out the window.

"Trap games" are for when you have a good team and are concerned that your team will play down to the level of the other team. We don't have trap games. Other teams might worry about a trap game when they play us.

The subtle difference between fear and stupidity. Take the 3. That has been MT's bane for years.

I think the TE torching happened after we lost our last effective ILB (Roberts) to injury. Once they realized we had no answer, they just fed it to McBride.

Weak excuses. It was a Mano y Mano play against the 31st ranked run defense and they got beat.

Y’all say that everybody knew what was coming when they lined up in shotgun for a rpo. I certainly didn’t expect that play call. Maybe you question that particular play call, but not the decision to go for it there. Yall keep ignoring the fact that the Cardinals offense hadn’t done anything against their defense to that point and that the gamble was made assuming that they’d the defense would keep them pinned in the event that they didn’t make it.

There’s no excuse for them not being able to get a yard there. None.

All the Chin had issues as well, human error is a part of us all. But, there has never been a systematic almost formulaic loss record to bad record teams like we’ve experienced in the Tomlin era. BTW, I’m not a basher nor am I overly supportive of coach T it’s just that facts are stubborn things and we have to accept the reality of our past actions. Accept but then make modifications to fix it. Our problem is we’re on the downside of Decade Two here now with the same issues. If that’s not reality slapping ya straight up in the face then I don’t know what is?

There are two good ones. They had just lost their starting quarterback and their left guard on the previous play. I hated the call just with Pickett going out. I hadn't realized until today that Seumalo was injured on the same play. So they just had to make a change at quarterback and disrupt their offensive line and you actually think it was a good idea to go for it. lol.

Your right...their D didn't do anything up to that point.......besides keep us from scoring, keeping us to 3 points, and knocking our Qb out of the game, but Yes besides that they did nothing. LoL
