Unfortunately some of the guys that should no better and vets had serious tackling issues. Timmons as an example had missed tackles and just generally played terrible. 4th year man Antwon Blake was whiffing in a big way as well. They have to tighten up this secondary or we will be looking at a long season.

Two people already brought up my thoughts about this...

    ...

    :this!:... And, see below..

    ...

These are two of my biggest complaints lately, and they are not exclusive to Tomlin...

NFL players in general, don`t seem to have been brought up with good fundamental tackling techniques.

They tend to go for the "highlight reel hit", as opposed to putting their shoulder in the ballcarrier`s gut, and wrapping their arms around his legs...

And as for our team, in particular, we used to seem to "swarm to the ball", a LOT better than we have, recentley...

I seem to remember complaining about this the last couple years, with Cowher, and LeBeau in charge, as well...

So, it`s not all on the coaching staff...

It just seems like we always had someone there, to make the tackle, if the 1st man missed, and I haven`t seen that in years...

Maybe it`s a symptom of more "specialized" Defense, or the spread out passing attack, or something. I don`t know...

I just don`t see as many defenders getting to the ball, as we used to have, and it bothers me.

    GO STEELERS!!!
