We've discussed whether or not this may be the Steelers worst postseason loss in history, and it certainly ranks in the top 5. But I've been following the Steelers for a long time and will go on record now as saying that this is THE WORST STEELERS DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE IN POSTSEASON HISTORY!

    Agree or disagree?

I have watched them pretty religiously for 30+ years. I haven't seen worse that I can remember. they have played games like this but have always come up with the stop when needed. they couldn't stop anyone or anything today

The fog game against Curtis Martin Patriots comes to mind, but I don't remember the details

Thanks. Anyone that votes no please elaborate on which defensive performance was worse and why. I personally don't even think there's another postseason defensive performance close to this one in its ineptitude, mainly because the offense we were going against was not exactly potent.

I'd be interested to hear from whoever voted no on which defensive performance was worse.

jack, you may remember. I think it was early 80's maybe 83 against the raiders. I don't think it was as bad as todays but I remember not being able to stop the run and it being so frustrating. I also think we has cliff stout.lol

LOL. You seem to be about as committed as our defense was today. ;)

Yes. Without question. And if you do have question, remember it was Blake Bortles. It wasn't Joe Montana.

By far this was the worst Steeler post season defensive show in the past 40 years or maybe longer.

This was one of the worst defensive performance in playoff history. Giving 38 points to Blake Bortles is like giving up 100 to a good offense.

    Same here.

Sadly was not alive to compare this to the 1994 AFC Championship Game. For me though, that 2012 AFC Wild Card Game will haunt me forever.

    This one is close.

Absolutely yes, no doubt about it. This defense is thin on talent throughout the back seven. No way, no way this team should have lost today. Lot of people here commenting that Jax has a real good chance at Foxboro. Jax will lose by 17+.

The only other losses I was really pissed about was the loss (94?) To San Diego, in 01 to NE, and the Tebow loss. Those losses were close, and could have went either way. The defense got absolutely wrecked today.

I think the Tebow debacle out ranks this effort.

As far as the AFCCG my initial thought was oh yeah the Jags D would give Brady problems. Then I realized the Stillers hung 42 points on that D. Stillers D just so bad that any other D looks so good.

Yes. I think only the pats have made our D look worse. The steelers are going to need to re tool this D through free agency in 18, no faith in them to draft guys. May have to let Bell walk if he wants 15 mill a year. The D is in shambles compared to the offence.

I really believe this may be top 5 in Steeler history, postseason or regular season. Seriously, not one guy on defense made an impactful play yesterday. NOT ONE! Against an offense that won't make anybody forget about the Greatest Show on Turf, no less. I'm still absolutely amazed at how not one player on defense showed up yesterday.
