I'd have to say "No". Frustating they may be. But they have an elite QB, and a top rated D. I ain't checked by I'm certain there were other 12-4 teans in the past that didn't have either of those.

Having said that I'd be surprised if they got to the AFC Championship game. But lots of 12-4 teams have failed to do that.

No. I'm not going to even try making comparisons. 12-4 is 12-4.

We have a large amount of room for improvement, but it is a good team.

I have not looked for historical comparison, but my instant reaction is an absolute NO.

A better question might be - is this the worst 12-4 team in Steelers history?

    the others were
    1979- won Super Bowl XIV
1994- lost AFC Championship game to San Diego
    2008- won Super Bowl XLIII
    2010- lost Super Bowl XLV

Then, I might be tempted to say yes, although I believe that the drop off from last year to this year is a slight one.

We are an above average team. I wouldn't even say we're good. Look at who we have played

    Baltimore - 2 losses
Houston with no Andre Johnson - loss
    San Fran - Loss

    Now look at our wins

    St louis
    Indy (no Manning)
    Seattle
Cleveland (they have no offence whatsoever)
    Kansas City
    Tennessee
    Jacksonville
    Cardinals
New England (this is a good win, no denying that)
Cincinnati (decent wins, but Cinci is up and coming still, they aren't quite there yet)

So we have 1 win against a good team, and we have 2 wins against an up and coming team with a rookie QB and rookie WR. The rest of our games have either been losses to good teams, or wins against very weak teams.

Now, I'll still take 12-4 and a playoff berth as anything can happen in the playoffs, but we are a pretty weak 12-4 team. Probably not the worst ever, but definitely the worst Pittsburgh playoff team I can remember in quite a long time. We just aren't very good this year, and almost all of the blame falls on Ben and Arians.

The bears have had two teams in the last decade, including last year, that went either 12-4 or 13-3 and were much worse than this team. This poll ? is ridiculous. We will be playing on the second weekend of the playoffs and our own fans can't stop talking about how we suck

    Kansas City beat Green Bay
    St. Louis beat New Orleans
    Arizona beat Dallas, San Fran
    Jacksonville beat Baltimore
    Tennessee beat Baltimore and Houston
    Cleveland never gets blown out.

Any team can beat any team on any given day. Plus, I am sure teams/players give their 150% performance against the Steelers. Plus, the Steelers were on prime time TV how many times? 6 or 7 I believe. I just think teams will just play harder against the Steelers than any other team....

The 2000 New York Giants were 12-4 with a 4-4 record against teams with records of .500 or better. As we know, they made it to the Super Bowl but were crushed by the Ravens.

I voted "No". Even though the wins may seem to be against sub-par teams, we are 2-3 plays away from being 14-2 or 15-1. Losses to San Fran and Baltimore (2nd one) were definitely decided by 1-2 plays. I don't even remember the Houston game, but that's another one that probably could have turned on a play or two.

    To be prescient-

the 1984 Denver Broncos, with John Elway in his first year as a starter but not much else offensively, went 13-3 - and lost the opening round of the playoffs at home to our own 9-7 Pittsburgh Steelers, with Mark Malone at the helm. I'd like the 2011 Steelers over both those teams.

Well, see if they had lost to the teams on that list then I'd agree and say we aren't very good but since they won and beat the teams they are supposed to I'll just have to disagree.

!2-4 is 12-4. But this team has a number of areas where it can improve. Not sure why so many people take personal offense at any remarks critical of the Steelers in general and the offense in particular. At least (so far) on this board no one has played the "true fan" card.

Depends on the remark. There is critiquing and then there is the absurd, the absurd remarks are the ones most of us get riled up about.
