For those old enough to remember, both Super Bowl champions. Who would win? '76 Oakland vs '77 Dallas?

76 Raiders because they went through us. We all know how the 70s Cowgirls fared against the Steel Curtain. lol

The Raiders didn't go through anyone Both Steeler running back were out and the Steelers didn't turn into more of a passing team until later.

Umm, I think they did win against us in the playoffs in '76. So I stand by my statement that the Raiders went through us to become the SB champs in '76.

Back to the op's question, the '76 Raiders would send the '77 Cowgirls home with a participation trophy & juice boxes.

Your missing my point. The only reason they beat us was because of the injuries of the two running backs.

The '76 Raiders beat the Steelers twice. They scored 31 pts and 24 pts against the so-called greatest D ever. They went 13-1. I think they were pretty good.

Easily the ‘76 Raiders. 16-1, and 8 players from that roster are in the hall of fame. The Cowboys May have been “America’s Team,” but the Raiders were our true arch-rivals back then.

Who are the 8 players: I'm not sure all these guys are in the HOF: Stabler, Shell, Upshaw, Biletnikoff, Otto, Hendricks, Willie Brown, Madden. Tatum?

The Raiders were the best team that season, it's no guarantee that if Bleier and Franco played they would win that AFCCG in Oakland.

I agree no guarantee, but the Steelers were peaking and had just gone into and destroyed the Colts in the game they played. I would have sure bet the Steelers pretty heavy.

I agree. Losing two 1,000 yard rushers is a devastating blow.

Many consider that '76 team the best ever in Steeler history. Defense posted an amazing 5 shutouts that season.
