Was that the game he did his superman act and flew to the endzone from the 10 yard line? If that was the game you were at, that was the achilles injury.

the guy has been leaving everything he has on the field for years now. hes body is breaking down on him.

hes been a great HOF player for the Steelers and maybe his time has come. its not his fault the Steelers FO hasnt done a very good job at finding his replacement.

i say enjoy whatever time we get to see him play because it will be a long time until we see another player like him.

That's true. But if you said of Cal Ripken, "Troy Polamalu he ain't" it would be even more true. In fact, that works with everyone. Ain't nobody Troy.

It sucks that Troy is hurt AGAIN, and I wish he would train with Ike & Co in Florida and see if it helps. No one's more bummed about this than me, but the "Troy is done" stuff is ridiculous. He's only in his 10th year, and he's following the same pattern of injury-health-injury-health that he had when he was 25. This isn't new stuff. Hell, it just means he's the same Troy he was 5 years ago, doesn't it?

He's still a huge difference maker in the game. People said he wasn't what he used to be before the 2010 season, and he turned out to be the clear and only choice for DPOY. Until I see otherwise, he's still the best safety in the NFL to me. He's been hurt before and always rebounded. He may start to slow down due to age this year or next year (he didn't last year), but Troy Polamalu a step slower is still better than anyone else I can think of.

I am in no way saying that Troy is done and didn't mean to give that impression. A slow Troy is still better than a lot of the safetys out there. I wouldn't trade him and I agree 100% that he is a HOF. What I posted was out of frustration because I would much rather have him on the field than off! However, I do wish he could stay on the field for all the above reasons and he just can't seem to do it.

TTF, can he say this stuff on here? I know you are lenient with us but those words he uses would have to be offensive because I don't understand them! Gastroc muscle? I thought we were talking about his calf not his butt?

Troy's career is over, we all might as well accept that fact and move on, I said he wouldnt play more than a half in this game and he made it less than a full quarter: He didnt do anything in that quarter but run behind the ball at 3/4 speed if that, he'll miss 4 games, start again and come limping off again at some point during the game: The colts put up with this same crap from Bob Sanders for a couple of years getting 2 or 3 games out of him a season untill they finally cut him. We need to start recognizing the fact Troy cant be counted on to start for this team any longer, we need to get a strong safety either in the draft or through FAgency and let troy move on and enjoy his life after football, but thats the only choice this team has left for them now, so long Troy it's been nice to know ya, but we cant depend on you any longer.....

Troy has always been injury prone. We could never count on him to be healthy. We still got to enjoy him when he was, though. Is this just mindless venting or what? Did you just notice he gets injured?

He's had this same calf problem since the playoff game in Denver, and again in the 1st game in Denver he re-injured it, it looks like he cant rehab it, it appears to be permanent, even ESPN com news made this comment about it...

The right calf has been a troublesome injury for Polamalu. It's the same calf he hurt in the playoffs last season. A tender right calf kept him out of practice leading up to the divisional playoff game at Denver.

Well hey, gee, it's lingered for 4 games already. Why is he even still on the roster?

Actually he sat out six games and missed parts of two others with a similar injury last year, my point is he misses almost as many games as he plays in, do we keep a player on the roster for 8 games a year or do we get a player who can show up for 16 games, if a players durability is a concern then it needs to be addressed: I am a troy fan, in fact in 03 on the steeler board I did a mock draft and I had us trading up to draft him in the 1st round, but the years have taken there toll on him and we need to decide are we going to nurse him to get 8 games out of him every year, and have a backup like Mundy playing in the other 8, or are we going to get a player that we can depend on to show up???

Yeah, what good is Troy Polamalu if he only plays 8 games per year? Are you kidding? I'd keep him around for 4. No, Mundy isn't the answer. We need a better backup. Or a future starter. Or both in the same guy would be nice. Who are these people that throw out Troy Polamalu for being hurt? And I'm not saying not to throw him out because he deserves more respect. Don't throw him out because he's too freaking good. I'll never understand how people can see certain things and not see others. For the record:

    2011: 17 games (100%)
    2010: 17 games (89%)
    2009: 5 games (31%) <--- missed playoffs
    2008: 19 games (100%)

Ron Cook on NFL network just now said that Troy's injury is very serious and he might be done.
