For the love of pete, don't start Blake next week :beg:

The guy gets beaten like a rented mule.

No margin for error anymore, put your best players on the field.

As soon as Blake gets beaten for a long TD by AJ Green, Boykin will replace him.

I'd sure like to see Blake get replaced BEFORE he gives up a big play! Better yet, don't start him at all.

Right. Tomlin was willing to bench RBs for fumbles in years past, but not Blake for bad play continuously.

Blake and Boykin were both on the field today... They're trying something I guess.

It's a head scratcher... Golden has outplayed Allen in spots when utilized as well. Nothing we can do but trust the coaches' decision and hopefully whine a lot less and gloat a lot more this upcoming weekend... Blake will be on the field so we shall see.

I think our best performing corner combo is Gay & Cockrell outside, and Boykin in the slot. Nice strip by Boykin today.

With all the injuries the Steelers have had this year, why can't Blake get injured?

Here is the real head scratcher. Blake is bad we know this, other team know this, ancient civilizations probably know this so why aren't they using it to their advantage? If he is targeted by other teams why not shadow him and when the throw is made jump the route? Mitchell, Allen, Golden heck even Shark could have multiple picks from a deep safety position if the watch Blake and his man and break on the ball as soon as it's thrown.

It has been comical watching the likes of the Ravens and Browns going right after Blake and owning him.

We have to know the ball is going to who ever Blake is covering. So why don't we give him safety help on every play ? Or better yet try someone else ? We were obviously better with Cockrell and Boykin. The reasoning has to be completely rediculous.

Will never, never know why Blake is still starting then goes away and sits, then suddenly our secondary plays better. Why play this game when it is so obvious.

Also noticed we blitz much more today, something we didn't do against the Ravens. Against the rookie QB for the Bengals, we need to do the same thing and not give him all the to throw.

The blitzes were pretty slow to develop (safety or corner from deep), so a quick release burns that. But it was good to see.

If Blake has to play then they should use him as a monster man/CB ..Move him around the formations give him bracket help with less than 2 WR'S anytime the go 3 or more then Blake gets the man closest to the line and becomes a blitzer .. This should put him chasing the QB at least 70 percent of the time and in single coverage none of the time ....

Blake had a knack for blitzing yesterday. Bring him in on spot duty. But alas Tomlin will start him and the rest of us will watch in horror as he gets eaten alive. Hopefully he gets yanked early. Cockrell is solid and Boykin is always around the ball and makes plays.

I still don't understand the Blake love from Tomlin and Butler.

I will say this for Blake, his one Interception return for a TD against the Chargers probably secured that critical win. And he is one of our better wrap-up tacklers. But his man coverage just Blows!!

Yep, didn't like the slow blitzes they took too long. The better blitzes were when the saftey or corner were closer to the line. Just glad they tried something not like the Raven game when they hardly blitzed the whole game. I'm a believer if you have a QB that doesn't play much, you got to blitz on almost every pass play and make it hard on them and don't let the QB get in a rythem like Mallet did.

Is the system Blake in the first half and Cockrell in the second? That seems to be the pattern the last few games. We are lucky to still be in the games at the half with Blake out on the field.

It appears something like that. But it is obvious that Cockrell can shut his man down, Blake cannot.

Better wrap up tackler? Ummm when he is either whiff ing on the ball, trying to blow up his man and failing or running behind the guy trying desperately to get somekind of stop. Only time he wraps up is when the guy runs into his arms.

He shouldn't be playing the CB position what-so-ever. I could see a better fit as some sort safety / blitzing safety for em.
