I agree size would be ideal but in this case I would make an exception the guy is dynamic and if he was only a WR I would say its a reach. What he could also bring to our special teams is what has me thinking I would be ok with taking him at 17. Ideally a trade back scenario would be the best option. I think we could go for a WR with more size later in he draft as well ,like a Harper from KSU. I think we could go with two WRs and a RB in the draft ,with the rest being defensive selections.

I'm not quite sure that's a fair comparison.. I just want a good football player, be it 5'10 or 6'3, doesn't matter to me.. I just find it interesting when one of the most beloved Steelers to ever play (Hines Ward) was hardly a tall receiver and definitely didn't pass the eyeball test but he sure could "ball".

Yeah but what would you rather have? If you could take the what ifs out of it and were presented a 6'4" fast, physical receiver or a speedy little guy who can make plays, and both were guaranteed bona fide studs, what would you choose? That's all I'm saying.

And don't forget the illustrious Fred Gibson out of Georgia. He was about 6'5" but played 4'5" - lol!

LOL, I forgot about him Jack.. I wonder how many productive NFL mighty-mites we missed out on drafting size specific WR's over the last 10 years?

Exactly, you want balance, you don't want to field a team of midgets, er, I mean little people.

I have no desire for big receivers, just good one's. Belicheat and Joe Gibbs must've felt the same way. They have/had both won consistently with small receivers. We won our last two SB's with "little people" too. It's way overrated IMO..

Our little guys weren't so great this year and Ben wants a big target, that should count for something. As for NE, I bet you if you gave Brady truth serum he'd tell you he misses Moss (before he became a headache for them). Certainly wasn't overrated for the Rats, they owe their SB to Boldin.

I know, I know, alot has been invested in what Boldin did during the playoff run.. He's not tall, he's physical and compete's for the ball.. Chris Harper might be a better comparison for what Boldin offers but there's a few short guys that do the same. It's about desire not height.

lol He's a lot bigger then Austin! 5'8" is small man, especially compared to other football players. And I'm not just talking about height, I'm talking about what guys like Boldin bring to the table. We're not going to agree on this one though. I'll take physical attributes and desire over just desire alone.
