I thought we crushed NE and Ciny but that is just my humble opinion. I know the score doesn't reflect that but we controlled that game until we let off the gas... could be my opinion of "crushing someone" is different than yours. To me a score could be 6 to 3 and, yet, one team could have crushed the other in the game. I'm not saying, I'm just saying!

It's too early for ruling out or counting ourselves in the playoff hunt.

A few years ago New England missed out on the playoffs with a 11-5 record.... something we could possibly end up being with possible close games with Cincinnati and San Francisco. We'd have 3 losses in the division, and it would all be dependent on the outcome of some other teams (Jets, Bengals, Broncos, Titans). Any of those 6-5 teams win out, and an 11-5 Steelers team would sit home. Of course I think those possibilities are unlikely, it is possible. Let's win this week vs Cincy. This team needs to secure some home field playoff games, obviously their road performance has been lacking this year. I don't think they are capable of a 2005 type performance with 3 road wins in the playoffs.

And my thought of "crushing" is total control of game from start to finish, 60 minutes of football with the other team having no hope of coming back.......sort of what the Ravens did to us 1st game. I hope I'm wrong but just don't see it with this team........prove me wrong STEELERS starting this week!

how about the Tennessee game this year? Does that meet your criteria for crushing?

I see where you are coming from. Initially, I had the feeling that you were one of those "the whole season is lost" kind of people. I think I understand now that you are looking for the same thing all of us are, just saying it different. I hope they do prove you wrong starting this week!

Sorry but the poor performance against KC had more to do with player lack of interest and motivation than it did with game planning. The Steelers were playing an away game against a loser opponent and their performance reflected that. I'm not saying they took KC for granted but they looked like they were sleep walking through most of the game. The important thing is we won though and that's all that matters. Against a playoff opponent with more on the line we'll see a different Steeler team. We always do ;)

Not sure I agree. Look at our away game schedule so far this year:
Week 1: Loss at Baltimore 35-7, our archival was prepared, we were not interested in playing
Week 3: Win at Indy 23-20, we were 1-1 and already behind in the standings, lack luster performance against a bad bad team
Week 4: Loss at Houston 17-10, a playoff contender
Week 7: Win at Arizona 32-20, the game was much closer than the final score, again, weak performance against a bad team
Week 10: Win at Cincinnati 24-17, game was far to close considering Cincy has a rookie QB
Week 12: Win at KC 13-9, weak game against bad bad team

Our road performance has been lackluster in every game this year. This team does not seem motivated on the road, no matter what the competition level.

    :this!:
This would certainly be one explanation for the performances. But how do you fix it?

Remember ladies and gentlemen. One game at a time. Get bye Cincy first. Then think about the next game.

    Week 2 - Seattle - 24-0
    week 5 - Tennessee - 38-17
    week 7 - Arizona - 32-20

Sure, not great teams, but 2 of these 3 teams beat the Ratbirds and Arizona only lost by 3. My point is that there is a lot of parity in this league. Any given day...etc.

Seriously dude?!?! What, was that the only game you ever saw?! There were 4 games last year alone that were blowouts:

    9/26/10 - Tampa - 38-13
    11/21/10 - Oakland - 35-3
    12/23/10 - Carolina - 27-3
    1/2/11 - Cleveland - 41-9

    1979 -

    :hmmm:

So you're saying we should really pay attention to that last game? I like the looks of it, provided Kent Graham isn't the QB again.
