8-0 is great, but it's been worrying me that 7 of the 8 victories have close games and could have gone the other way. The great thing is that the ball has bounced steelers way. They have NOT played a complete game yet this year. The Browns victory was big but the steelers had less than 300yrds of offense. I want to see a dominant performance, 500yrds offense, no turnovers, stop the run, control the time of possession, 8 sacks, less than 200yrds allowed. Hopefully, we'll see more dominant performance in the second half of the season.

Good luck seeing that in 2020 as the Steelers have been tip toeing through this Covid crap.

I see this team as being on the verge of greatness, barring injury/COVID.

The Ravens game was an anomaly because of how hard it is to defend the run with Jackson......but we won!

The Alice Cowboys game was an anomaly because they were starting a no-name QB and hard to game plan for, not to mention the Cowboys played a near perfect game until late penalties............and we won!

We have a few key injuries that are hurting our run game but I also think this could be the week we gel.............as long as Ben can play.

Seems like a pretty reasonable ask. Why shouldn’t we beat every other team 86-0

Let's say a team is a 3:1 favorite in all 16 games, so clearly the best team in the league.
The results match the odds. At the end of the season, the team is 12-4.

Did that team "play down to the competition" in 4 games?
Or is it just the nature of things that when you play enough games, a team is going to lose some of them?

(Most people don't have an intuitive understanding of statistics.
They expect "above average" most of the time, and "average" at worst.
When they get below average results roughly half the time, they think something is wrong, when it is what was predicted.)

Chiefs barely beat the panthers and chargers and lost to the raiders. They pretty much won big vs everyone else.

we pummeled the browns and barely beat everyone else lol.

both chiefs and Steelers have the most complete teams imo.

wouldn’t surprise me if Buffalo, Saints, or someone like that wins the super bowl because football is weird like that.

look at undefeated teams that are 8-0 or better results, they usually don’t fare well.

This is always fun: Classic Tomlin-Era Egg Lays that prevented Steelers from obtaining a #1-2 seed in playoffs... or playoff berth period. 2014-2017 years included HOF QB, All Pro RB and All Pro WR.

I remember that Jets game well. Ben was coming off back to back 6 TD pass games.
The Jets, lead by Mike Vick, were 1-8.

8 sacks, really? You want the other team to sign a HS O line for that? I agree the team still needs to work on most phases of their game, injuries, covid crap blah blah, all teams are facing it. One thing about 'under playing' out opponents, in the past we have lost a lot of these games. IDK is this team will continue this streak, but there is still a lot of potential to get unleashed. Most of the Saints games this year have been won or lost by a TD or less, and 2 have went to OT. The Bucs were ascending and looking unbeatable...then looked what happened. Really difficult to predict the NFL week to week.

Yep... that one ranks up there with the Tebow playoff loss.
