I have been hearing some in the media say he is, he took a step back last season, and they added three guys who are most likely to play over him.

I don't think they will release him, hold onto him and see if a team suffers an injury at the position, then maybe try to trade him.

I read that releasing Maulet frees up $1.78 mil in cap space. Enough for a small Van Noy shopping spree?

If we are going to buy a Van Noy I would prefer we got a full size one

There is also the fact that he sucks and it is best not to have a guard who gets shoved into the backfield that often.

Dotson takes too many dumb penalties, but he is a heck of a run blocker.

Probably doesn't help that he was extremely raw coming out of college and saw action at a position that is undergoing a redefining in subpackage ball the last two years. Then the real big question mark of the team having no plan for losing Tuitt or finding a true NT to make a base 3-4 work as well as losing Tyson and Wormley to injuries. Not a recipe for project development by any stretch.

How often was he shoved into the backfield as a guard

I believe it was you who pointed out he was inactivated all year

So how does a guy who is inactive get pushed backwards

And don’t mix apple and kumquats by comparing guard with his play at center

Basically. It provides good coverage, decent value, and rarely disappoints.

Wow I thought he was here during that last season. I think I got him confused with Switzer. Man I'm forever bad with names.

I didn't see him actually proving he could be an effective guard, either, yet you seem to be assuming that. We have actually seen Dotson play well there.

He was kind of undersized as a center, he's way undersized for a guard. At least when he was falling on the ground as a center he wasn't getting anyone else rolled up on. At guard he possibly could be.

In the Websters definition of "suck" Switzer and Gunner mean the same thing just spelled different so no worries. Tomato, tomahto.

    I did some homework

    The average guard is 6 ‘ - 4 1/2” and 315.88 #

Green is 6’ - 4” and 315# putting him right at average

Plus I think he is incredibly strong

Plus he has upside over Dotson

Anyone who thinks that Kendrick Green would not be manhandled being a guard(so good he was inactive ALL last season) and pushed backwards more then DJ goes really hasn't watched his play at center. With the addition of Herbig and Dotson as the backups he has no business being on this roster.
If Cole goes down Danial's will move to center.

And tell me how he is better then Dotson? When again he was INACTIVE all last season!

And also stated he doesn't want to play Center. Good thing.

Oh no he was a 3rd round pick and if they release him he will dominate elsewhere :lolol: and they shouldn't give up on him

If those who think he needs to get a chance put his @ss on the practice squad hiding him from getting run over.

I have no idea how his weight room training has been, it may surprise (i doubt it, but you have to think something positive, or crap, and I do not give craps up that easily). At this point he is a camp body, and if he wants even a PS role he had better hope they do not revert back to pre-covid rules, as he may be SOL.
