Sony Michel. NE got a steal. We could have grabbed him and told Bell to kick rocks. This kid is gonna hurt us for the next 4 years.

Austin Corbett, G. G wasn't our top need, but Foster is likely to be gone next season, and this kid is a total beast. With him, Pouncey and DD inside, we'd be a monster rushing the ball.

Harold Landry, edge rusher. We could move on from the Dupree failed experiment with this kid. He not only has speed but he's got major bend and dip and can do more than just race up the field until he is far from being any where near the QB like Bud does every passing down. "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, look at me rush 25 yards upfield. Wait, I am no where near the QB now."

Moving on to the 3rd, I like the Washington pick

Justin Reid, S. Fast, athletic, instinctive. I don't know if our Edmunds pick plan is to turn him into a tiny ILB or not, but Reid will be twice as good as our 1st round pick as S and he could have been nabbed in the 3rd instead of the 1st. He would have been a turnover machine for us.

    Free agency passes

Passed on ILBs Navorro Bowman, Zach Brown, Todd Davis.

Maybe the Steelers should fire Colbert and hire OP as GM, he thinks he has all the answers. No other team has signed Bowman either since you think he's such a great FA.

Passing on Marino cost the Steelers at least 2 more Super Bowls.

Imagine those 90's teams with Lloyd, Woodson and Marino at QB. :frown:

    That would have been EPIC.

Sometimes it can be. I think Colbert is doing a pretty good job. I think Tomlin has definitely squandered some opportunities with some questionable coaching decisions. None of these coaches are perfect though. I’m not a huge Fan of Tomlin, but he’s a pretty good coach. He just needs to have a little more consistent accountability from his players and I think we’ll get we’re we want to go.

I think Colbert is fine too (at least for now). Some may look at Tomlin's coaching as squandered opportunities and still trying to learn from mistakes. No, he is what he is.

Yeah you shouldn't be still learning from the same mistakes 10 years in. Should have learned along time ago. But hey he's our coach and nothing is changing with that in the near future. I'm going to cheer for him to do well as long as he's here.

Troy Edwards instead of Jevon Kearse.

Kearse + Porter would have been deadly back in the early 00's.

That's the point, twinkle toes - he is out there, but we are going to instead use mini me ILBs to fool the world.

Well, at least he did "learn" to stop going for 2 when there was little upside but a lot of downside. (By "learn" I mean Rooney took him behind the woodshed and beat his hide.) I've never seen a coach "brag" about not using logic and reason in making decisions. Bragged out it.

Duh clueless they signed Bostic, he's probably a better alternative to a washed up Bowman.

Colbert is a top 5 GM, so in this instance change isn't good.

I’ve seen coaches do it quite a lot. Usually in the context of the importance of following instinct, maintaining aggressiveness, stepping off the script... Doug Pederson and Bruce Arians come to mind.

    http://www.nfl.com/player/jonbostic/2539978/careerstats

Bostic - 5 seasons, had 1 tackle in seasons 2015-2016.

    http://www.nfl.com/player/navorrobowman/2508088/careerstats

Bowman - 8 seasons, never missed a season due to injury, had 89 tackles just last season.

Yea, but Bowman is the washed up one; basically he's rarely hurt in 8 years, Bostic was basically out for 2 out of 5 seasons. Now pucker up to that kazoo and toot, toot, toot away.

Well, to a degree, I suppose. But I'd have to see which quotes from Pederson you are referring to. With Tomlin, we are talking about an area where they make charts for and coaches refer to said charts to know when to go for 2, with some instances being a "pick em" as there is no right or wrong decision. The problem is, Tomlin was choosing to go for 2 when the chart specifically said the logical choice was to just kick the extra point. But Tomlin had a "gut feeling" to go for 2. If you noticed, he doesn't do that anymore, ever since Art 2 put his size 11 up his rear end.

What specifically do you quantify KC being a top 5 GM?

What are the measurables that had you form this conclusion?
