Just because someone has personal issues, it doesn't mean he brings them to the office with him. There are plenty of people in the world who have regular jobs who are terrible people, but awesome at their job and are awesome team players in their work environment. Besides, dug use is almost never a character issue in my opinion... its a personal issue, and personal issues are easier to overcome since they are external. Character issues are guys that beat their wives or cheat on them, treat people like they are better than them, or care only about themselves etc. These things are more who that person really is, and is much tougher to overcome.

Lyerla certainly has a personal issue. But it doesn't mean he is a bad guy, or that he would be a bad teammate. It certainly wouldn't make him a sure fire guy to divide an NFL locker room. I don't advocate taking him in the first 4 rounds, but later than that he is no risk to us (and we would gain another top talent prospect in the later stage of the draft). We still probably won't even think about drafting him, I just think we should seriously consider it.
