Player ____ cut...sign him...(plus notable cuts)

Bobby Carpenter cut by Pats. I Usually don't think twice about us bringing in veterans like this but with injuries at LB and depth at ILB this sounds at least a little bit interesting. Alltough I don't know how much he would cost.

He has played some good ball the past couple of years and made the transition to 3-4 ILB already. But if he's seen just as Brandon Jonhson vol 2 he won't get a look. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I was posting basically about players who have had strong careers AFTER being cut, not necessarily players the Steelers have cut who've had great careers elsewhere. Indeed, thanks for clarifying about Silverback for me. He's the perfect example.

Yeah...all good choices and most in various stages of decline. All of them still had solid seasons elsewhere.
But....Don't forget Kevin Greene. I loved watching him and Greg Lloyd with their "race ya to the quarterback" mentallity.
We had KG for 3 great years before he went to Carolina and had some more good years.

Now THAT defense was fun to watch!

i liked nate washington when he was here. he has done pretty well for himself.

gary anderson, earl holmes,big play ray seals,thomas everett,leon searcey,preston pearson.

 

Wasnt Rob Bironas cut (by Steelers from camp years ago)? We all know he would have helped the last 4 - 5 years

 

What about Orfeus Roye (sp?) He did pretty well, did we cut him or did he go as a FA?
