I know there will probably be a ton of hey...so and so was cut...the Steelers should look into him/etc threads (be it serious or joking ones)....so i figured I'd make one where we can keep all those type of posts!

Didn't realise Hightower had been cut. I thought he had a great future ahead of him - I suppose there is something of a lack of demand for RBs at the moment though.

 

If the Steelers had picked up every player cut from another team that has been suggested either here or on the old official board, we'd just about have a 100% different football team in Pittsburgh right now.

 

This is true! And some of those players people have called for over the years have ended up flat out sucking.

The Cards cut Crezdon Butler. I know there has been a post or two here that have confused him with Cortez Allen.

cut by washington today. with our current RB situation, he should definitely be looked at! dwyer looks great, but we're beat to hell after him...

 

Aints cut John Kasay ... Yeah, he's 42 but he was 28/34 (82%) compared to Suisham's 74% (last year)

Ryan Rau, LB, Cut from Eagles. Seemed like a decent player of what I've watched of him.

 

Patriots' center Dan Koppen hasn't been cut yet, but reports are that he will. I'd take a look there.

I'd THINK about bringing in Shawn Merriman just for a physical, see how he is. Likely he's done, but who knows. He's worth a look because of the LB issues.

I agree on Brandon Washington.

The team needs depth at ILB, but the pickings are slim.

 

I'd like Brian Hoyer or Mike Kafka as young backups. However my guess is they'd go somewhere like Arizona that needs a QB

Me too. I didn't know Moore was out there until just now. He was always a thorn in our side.

 

I agree with you we don't need those scrubs on the Steelers one guy mentioned Shawn Merriman if he can't make the Bills roster what is he going to do for the Steelers. Come on man, with some of these suggestions.

First and foremost if you actually read my post...i said that first group of players on the list were names people were throwing around this year or the last couple saying we should draft them. The others were notable names around the league cut...I NEVER once said to sign all these guys. The only one in later threads I mentioned I would be highly into would be TE Evan Moore. So before you try to make a comeback at me learn to read/understand what someone says. And yeah I agree with a lot of posts around here. But some of the people and the crap they say just get to you after a while...especially you...and I know i'm not the only one who has pointed out this before.

 

I would take Merriman over Worilds right now today and not think twice.

Buffalo didn't want to pay him like a starter for his production....but I am more than willing to pay him like a back up to come off the bench and rush the QB 15 to 20 plays a game opposite Woodley or Harrison.
