James C Wexell @jimwexell Plax went up vs. Ryan Steed & Cromartie-Smith. Was outjumped and fell on his arm. Leaving in cart.

WOW this team is really showing their soft side with injuries.

Plax apparently hurt his shoulder in practice on a jump ball

It can happen to any team or player. The Eagles have lost two receivers for the season that they expected to be on their final 53-man roster.

Torn/damaged RC tendons of the shoulder is a thorn in the flesh i know i've suffered for yrs. I appreciate Burress's contributions past & present with Pittsburgh . ..but it's time to move on with the young its time the steelers continue to look @ the big picture and give Wheaton of 22 the reps. We don't need an accident prone 35 year old hitching a ride in a 2013 recovery.

You only get one guy per season to return from IR. I wouldn't waste it on Plax when he was our 5th or so receiver.

Definitely career ending injury at his age.
Good luck on your future endeavors Plaxico.
Time to put your education to good use. Hopefully you made the best of it.

This is really sad. Plax looked great at training camp when I was there.

If there is nobody else to use it on then why not.

Cause a torn rotator cuff at 36 yrs old pretty much spells the end of a receivers career. They would have to call in a Shaman to get Plax back into playing form.

I'd rather wait and see if anyone more crucial to our success gets hurt for a lenghty amount of time to use the Designated to Return on than give it to a 36 year old 5th receiver. Even if it happens week 8, that guy can be back by the end of the regular season/playoffs.

I wouldn't be too worried. I hear Wheaton is the real deal. like the second coming of AB. I think we will be just fine....

Man our scouts are hitting on WR's lately???

Justin Brown this could be his chance to move up the depth chart.

He is a clone of AB, my goodness he can get in and out of route just like AB.

Yeah, I've always liked Plax and seems like he turned himself around. I liked the way J Brown looked last night though, hopefully he can step in and fill the big man roll, it's possible he would have beat out Plax anyway. I don't recall how Moye did, he's another possibility.
