Free agency hasn't even officially begun and the elite edge rushers who fit the Steelers system have been locked up by their perspective teams.this now leaves aging vets, 2nd tear talent or resigning guys who know the system for available free agents.

So what's plan B for getting a bookend edge rusher to play with Bud?

Plan A all along was the draft one, not sign one.

Agreed. Usually I am for whatever is best in the long term but Ben only has 2-3 yrs left so I'd rather go all in and try to get one more ring before hes done than build for the long term but be 8-8 or 9-7 every yr because they have no legit QB.

They are going to look for FA's that make sense on the field and financially.

And they are going to build through the draft like they always do.

If they come away empty in FA?

They were a game away from the SB with 3 rookies defensive players, minus their stud #2 wr, minus Bell.

The Miami Herald reports the Dolphins have "exploratory" interest in free agent DE/OLB Alex Okafor.
Coming off his rookie deal, Okafor would be making the switch from Arizona's 3-4 defense to a 4-3 in Miami. Okafor played just 231 snaps in 2016, but has 13.5 sacks over the past three years and is only 26 years old. Mar 8 - 6:29 PM

It's looking more and more like they will draft someone and hope Harrison can give opposing tackles fits while the rookie gets his legs under him.

I didn't forget about him, just think he is like Big Dan, Vince Williams, Dirty Red, Shark and so on. guys that are long term projects that so some flash but until everything comes together for them it is a waiting game. If they are in fact gearing up to get serious about a run this year then waiting on guys to "get it" isn't a winning strategy.

I think Vince is above all those guys, dont think he's waiting to get it at all.

    Solid player, IMO.

I think he is a project guy that is coming into his own. He is solid but can he get better? My thing with him is his default seems to be if I don't know just hit someone. Mitchell does that a lot and bugs the heck out of mr.

Speaking of mountain man Dan, is this his final year coming up?
