Pittsburgh Sports Writer Steelers Hate

"They hate the Steelers!"

"They are cheerleaders for the Steelers!"

Most of this is directed at the same guys, too. This is something that has been going on forever, fans projecting biases on the media when they read or hear something they don't like.

It reminds me of a story about a local sports editor who went to a high school basketball game between two rival schools. He had connections to both schools. He graduated from one, which we will call East Podunk. He lived in the town where the other was located, which we will call West Podunk. A fan of East Podunk kept shouting at him all night about his supposed hatred of their school. "I know you live in West Podunk! You are a West Podunk fanboy! You hate East Podunk!" He just smiled and watched the game, knowing the idiot was accusing him of hating his own alma mater.
