I posted this in the other sports section where we were discussing the Pens. I know there are some 3 Pitt team guys on the board as well as others who like a different baseball team and those who have no interest in hockey but I thought the video was cool so enjoy.

And if you feel the need go ahead and answer the question.

Thorn058''s picks, Mario, Roberto, Lambert and Mr. Rogers.

Mario, Roberto, Mean Joe Greene, Joe Magerac. They should actually carve this on Mt. Worthington.

For the Penguins it's easy Mario Lemieux sport wouldn't even exist in the city if it wasn't for that guy.
Probably saved the franchise at least 3 times, as player and and owner.

Steelers is very hard. But I put Mean Joe Greene on it. Drafting Mean Joe changed the franchise. One that toiled for 35-40 years prior to him becoming a Steeler. Art Rooney, Franco, Lambert, could be others. But I go Mean Joe.

Pirates is also easy, Even though there are many great Pirates. Roberto Clemente, is the best right fielder in MLB history hands down and to boot he was a great human being, and died trying to help people. That gets you on my mount rushmore.

Pittsburgh Icon. I have to go with Mr. Rogers. Just a good person, and great human being, of course you could put Andrew Carnegie on it or Andrew Mellon very successful business people who changed industry forever.
It says Pittsburgh Icon, if I go non-playing sports Icon, I put Myron Cope on it. But I go with Mr. Rogers

So Mario, Mean Joe greene, Roberto, and Mr Rogers for me.

    From a non-Pittsburghers viewpoint:
    Franco (He's in the airport)
    Mario
    Stargell
    The Fish that saved Pittsburgh!

Good stuff from all who picked!!

BUCS: should be Roberto for sure but I got a soft spot for Willie (spread some chicken on the hill) Stargell. As a youngster I'd sit in the 1.00 left field stands at Forbes Field and he would come over and talk to us. Bob Prince holds a spot in my heart also.

PENS: Mario by far! He is the reason the city still has a Hockey team and a winning one at that.

STEELERS: Tough tough tough call. So damn many and I really don't have an answer.

    Icon: No idea.

Steelers - Tough one. It could be Troy if he would come around more.

    Penguins - Crosby.

Pirates - Skipping the Pirates so I can do two icons.

    Icons - Rooneys and Mario.

Honorable mention - Mac Miller. Who dropped a great album today.

Clemente, Lemieux, Franco Harris (Joe Greene did not play on a winning Steelers team until Franco arrived), Steelers Nation (because of all the transplanted Steelers fans that passed their fandom onto the next generations).

Not a Pittsburgh yinzer so a bit skewed towards my favorite Pittsburgh players,

Football - Franco Harris (Lambert is my favorite but Steelers winning games started when Franco was signed)

Hockey - Sidney Crosby (Mario meant more to Pittsburgh)

Baseball - Willie Stargell (never seem Roberto play)

Basketball - Julius Erving ( my favorite bball player, would have owned Jordan in his prime)

Icon - The Chief (great man)
