Well at this point in the season they're 2 games above. 500. Only back a game or two. I'll take it for now

 

Golf once in a blue moon with the only STL fan in my area. Saw him recently and he assured me by time our club Championship comes around (August) his Cardinals will be ahead of my boys. He wanted to wager a hefty amount but I chickened out.

 

yeah that might be a bad bet to take. Maybe they can eke out a .500 year or almost .500. Let's hope so

 

Well it's May 23 and somehow the Pirates are in first place. Good to be in a bad division so far.

MLB should put teams in divisions by payroll. Could you imagine the division with the 190 million plus teams

 

Soon all will be back to normal in the Burgh. Bucs will be under .500 by the weekend and I suspect around June Pittsburgh will start dreaming of Kenny and the Jets. (Guy should have been drafted by the Jets)

 

Tonight's the night, it's gonna be all right. Sorry Rod but when I arise in the morning my beloved Pirates could very well be saying hello to .500. Thanks for the short thrill boys. Almost brought me back to the transistor radio with toothpick holding dial in place under the covers listening to Bob Prince.

I remember my parents bought me a transistor radio when i was a kid. I treasured that thing for 4 years! Always listened to the Pirates on it.

 

Land Ho!! (sorry Jim) The frigging BUCS have have a Home Run derby in Sleepless Seattle. Keller not on fire but goes to 6-1 as the BUCS seem to have a real ace. Almost end of May and 2 games over .500 but more importantly 1/2 game out of first which sound so damn strange to say so close to June.

Strange year indeed, if you take away the AL East, more than half of all other teams, NL and AL are at or below .500. NL Central may end up with a < .500 division winner.

 

Let it be us then we will shock the sports world!!! Didn't the Arizona Cardinals have a .500 record and they were minutes away from beating us for SB??

 

Make that one game over .500, which isn't great when you remember how they started. Keller might be the real deal, but the rest of that rotation just isn't good.

 

Come on BUCS! In the rough and ready NLC we're still only half game back. Need a Sunday win to keep the .500 hopes alive for June.

 

Hopefully the Giants stay real hot, until tomorrow.

 

Well sitting at .500 this Memorial Day. The mirage is coming to an end. Only hope I see is if we can somehow hang with SF cause then we come home to a weak Cardinal team and the worse team in the sports world.

That said, I wouldn't be surprised if STL. came alive in the Burgh and in keeping with the Steeler tradition of lesser teams beating them the Oakland/Vegas A's will win their only series of whole season

 

I fear the Pirates are becoming what they have been for years. It was fun while it lasted

 

Bucs at .500. Five hundred ball rest of way is 81 wins. These kids ain't winning 81 games. For them to win 70 games they'd have to go 44-66. Can't see it but thinking we won't lose 100 again. Good Times.

SF, STL and OAK if they have any balls they should be at .500 after those 3 series.

 

They're down 5 runs against the Giants right now so it looks like they are headed below .500. At least they has some fun at the beginning of the year.

So much for the notion that the 2023 Pirates are good.

 

No one thought they were good. We were just enjoying the start of the season. They are who they are

 

Kind of hard for teams with payrolls around 75 million to be considered good in today's MLB. Have to enjoy it when you can.

That said only the Oakland A's have a lower salary then the Balt. O's and Balt. is doing damn good in a tough ass division.

I want to check out the attendance for the A's this summer. I bet there are some games with less then 1000.

 

Not asking for miracles. 81 win season would make me happy. The kiddies are standing at .500 going into today's game in the place I left my heart.

Win or lose they will be coming home to play what looks like a bad STL team and a team that is 100% worse team in MLB.
