Pittsburgh Pilgrimage

Hi Steeler Nation.
I'm a long time remote Steeler fan from the UK. I've been following the Black and Gold for over 30 years.
As a celebration of turning 50 years old recently I'm planning my 1st ever trip to Pittsburgh and Heinz Field with a buddy of mine on Week 12 v Green Bay.
I'm looking for some advice and recommendations of things to do during my stay in the Steel City. Most notably on game day. Any good Bars to visit both pre and post game, good atmosphere and friendly people etc.. Any advice on what time to arrive at the stadium and things to do there pre-game?
I'm staying downtown but don't mind venturing out if it's worth the taxi fare? I arrive on Friday 24th Nov and leave late on Monday 27th.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
