Pittsburgh has a major problem

The Steelers media scene has turned into a circus. Too many people give these outlets way too much trust and attention, and all it does is hurt the fanbase and the team.


Look at the track record..... Metcalf vs. Pickens nonsense, the yearly Aiyuk fantasy, the drama around Ben’s retirement, the lies about Cam Heyward. Every offseason it’s the same recycled click-bait, and our city pays the price for it.

Now they’re dragging good coaches down for no reason, while propping up coaches who haven’t earned a thing. It’s sloppy, it’s reckless, and it’s all for attention.

And yeah, there are some solid writers out there. But when they’re surrounded by others at the very same outlet who push garbage takes, the credibility of the whole place drops.

 

I've worked for a few nfl teams. Pittsburgh media is the worse.

 

Don't watch, listen, or read. Problem solved.

 

They are no better or worse than any other city.

 

New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Philadelphia all would like a word for being worse.

Sorry, but I disagree due to being around it. I've set in doing photos during the media talking to coaches, players, GM, owners, etc.

Pittsburgh allows idiots in there that don't even know what the NFL stands for. And then y'all have a ton who work at legit places who constantly lie for clicks.

Think about it..... cam heyward called out the media not once, but twice.

When you have players leaving because of it, that's a problem.
When players get kicked because of it, it's a problem.
When coaches are not being hired, it's a problem.

 

He's one of the ones that listens to the media.

 

You clearly aren't aware of the Toronto media. It makes tabloids look like respectable media organizations.

 

In society in general, the signal to noise ratio has become worse over time. It is best to just put the world on IGNORE and go on about your business. That’s what I have had to do.

 

i have worried about THIS Rooney for many years.

we needed a change with Tomlin yes, but the real PROBLEM is and will remain him, IMO

our Payroll is maybe the lowest in the NFL, for coaches. We hire the minimal amount to get by.

Rooney is a multi multi million and is a CHEAP.

you get what you pay for and we ain't paying for MUCH!

 

I don't know that they are the worst, that mess in Washington was terrible.

Journalism is all about clicks.
It's TMZ reporting.
It is agenda driven.
What they don't know they will make up and support it with "sources"
I grew up around a reporter name Shirley Povich. The guys a pleasure to watch. He could write the stories and really tell about the player and the strife..
The stories were stories and brought out the human nature within the words.
Also, they were quite factual.

There were others.

I don't watch a lot of sports shows and I don't spend a lot of time scouring the internet for sports.
Most of what is out there just wants my clickthrough.

 

I laugh because its true they show no mercy.

 

Stopped watching sports tv, listening to local radio, and reading most of the major outlets NFL coverage many years ago. I still feel like I know what I need to know about the league and the Steelers specifically with the added bonus that I don't have to get bogged down in whatever nonsense Cowherd or similar is spewing that day.

If the Rooneys or other owners are listening and being influenced by that kind of thing, then they deserve to lose and be saddled with every bad decision it drives.

For afc/nfc south and west is who I've been in their buildings. San Francisco is up there. But I still say pittsburgh is worse.

TMZ is a great way of putting it.

I honestly don't trust anyone saying anything about our coaching situation.

Because Cam Heyward has never done anything self-serving.

 

Sad thing is, it is probably only going to get worse as the Pittsburgh Post Gazette is closing down.
