It looks to me like they have a bunch of cap room and most of their key players under contract.

Wilson, Lynch, and Wagner are all under contract for next year. They may need extending, but they aren't going anywhere if Seattle wants them.

Also Seattle has $24 million in open cap space. There's plenty of money to go around next year. 2016 may be a bit tougher though.

I dont kno who SEA free agents are but according to all the experts on sports stations, after signing wilson, they say they will have a hrd time signing them.

Not really. The first year or two of new contracts tend to be very cap friendly. Most of the money is doled out in the prorated signing bonus.

With Bell possibly missing the first two games of next season, let's hope not.

In 2008 Pitt had the number 1 most difficult schedule in the league based on strength of schedule, they went 12-4 won the Division, then won their two playoff games and beat the cards in the super bowl, I hope they have another difficult schedule next season so they know from their first game they have to bring it in every game to get to the playoffs, so I would welcome the first game in NE just to send the message they have to play their best in every game to become the best, just like they did in 08.....

In 08 we also had one of the greatest defenses of all time. In 2015? Not so much. I expect some growing pains on d for a little longer. I could even live without a ton of sacks if we could just manage to get off the dang field and protect field position.

Offense is much better now though and there is no arguing with the results they had last year against teams .500 or better.

Yea, but that was IN Miami in early Sept., and they were up in the 1st half, but then FL Sept heat wore them down and Fins came up huge in 2nd half as the Pats were just zapped from playing in that heat.

Unrelated, but watching the GB/Steeler SB on NFL.com....we were a better team...Mendy fumbled killed us....gonna hurt to watch our final drive and Their failure to convert 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5! Man Troy has slowed down, so much quicker in 2010... Of course he was DPOY.

I agree, we were much better then. We need to find some talent on defense, or we have no real hope of winning another Super Bowl anytime soon.

And Troy is carrying too much weight. You need to get lighter to preserve your quickness and agility as you get older.

Yeah there were lot of missed opportunities from Ben also... and some turnovers by him. They played sloppy on offense. This was precursor to what we were seeing in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

Let's add insult to injury. How about @ NE week 1 and @ Seattle week 2. Both without Bell.

Why does everyone always say Mendy fumbled that's why we lost. Ben's pick 6 didn't help the fudge packers?

Because Mendy was a head case and he is gone. Ben is still here. Personnally, I think the pick 6 was the most damaging play of the game. But hey, he's "elite", particularly in the big games, so that's alright.

IIRC, Bens arm was hit on the pick six. His other INT was all on him, although if Wallace cared about anything but catching the ball, he would have attempted to break that play up. As our new WR coach says, if you cant catch it, make sure no one else can.

The Mendy fumble was so costly because it killed a drive but far from the only reason they lost. Plus it was DJ (I think) that whiffed on Mathews and then proceeded to be clueless as to the balls whereabouts.

Agreed...just so happens Mendy fumbled as I typed. Ben's pick was horrendous, forcing it out of their end zone. Fox's penalty on the last kick return, not only cost us field position, but changed the play calling too.

Mendy's fumble also killed momentum and it seemed like at the moment it happen we were finally taking over the game and then Matthews just made a great play. The pick 6 is really annoying because the play call was just so dumb. A deep out in your own end zone was just a stupid play. Ben's arm did get hit but that play really shouldn't have been called with the line we had. I just always think plays like those are recipes for disaster.
