Pitt football the past 40 years

That WVU game when the refs were pushing the Mountaineers to the national championship game was the best memory of probably the last 40 plus years. I worked with a guy that was dating a WVU Alum. He went to the game, far too smart to wear Pitt gear. He told me on Monday after that game he saw grown men crying. Pitt had so much to overcome in that game, especially those two DPI calls against them in the second half that even the announcers said didn't agree with.

You're right, though. Their defensive game plan against the Orangemen was spot on, and it was carried out to the letter. Pitt has very quick and athletic linebackers and safeties. What does the rest of the season hold for them? I don't know. Like you said, as a long-suffering Panther fan, I keep waiting for that W. Michigan loss, lol. I'll say this. I would feel a lot better about this team if it was still being coached by Dave Wannstedt. I still don't care for Narduzzi.

I remember that happening, because I had some family in Arkansas then, and remember them talking about it, but I hadn't moved there yet, and I wasn't a fan of the Razorbacks as of Yet.
Like I said before.....I have family members that are alumni of Penn St, University of Arkansas, Illinois, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, LSU, and other small schools around those states.

 

Pitt is getting no respect this year. The Pitt-SMU game will be on the ACC Network, not ABC or ESPN. Undefeated. 19th ranked.

 

SMU is going to be tough, Our Panthers have to bring their A Game.

I think Pitt handles this pretty easy. SMU has only played one ranked team, and they lost to them. Hell they could barely get by Duke last night.

If you don't get the ACC network and can wait a bit, the full ACC games are posted on YouTube for free probably by the next day which is a Bye for the Steelers this coming weekend. Games I can't watch live I listen to on SiriusXM and follow on CBS Sports Gametracker and then watch the next day or so on YouTube. Just a thought. HTP!

 

Well, Pittsburgh football got the trifecta in night games. Now can the Panthers make it a quadfecta????

 

I really wanted to watch the PSU, and Ohio State game, but it's on the same as The Razorbacks, and Ole Miss. So I'm going to DVR the PSU/OSU game

but ACC could have 2 teams in the CFP. I can't figure Miami out, Clemson has picked
up their game . Both teams have many 4 and 5 star players, if they decide to play????

 

Well I'll be damned, I actually get the ACC Channel. No idea how or why but I pay a mortgage for TV and internet.

Yes they can only play what's on their schedule, but Steelers play in the NFL, and the other in college. There are no cupcakes in the NFL. There are lots, and lots of cupcakes in college.

Heard this a few years back, may not be true now but less then 2% of College players become a Pro. Since Pitt has stirred my interest I watch more now and it is easy to see the different level of play.

 

It's very true. There are over 81,000 people play college football every year. There are only 32 NFL teams.
