My list so far. Will be very happy if we land one of these guys.

JOK: Exceptional athlete, can cover in the slot, 82.8 coverage grade, you know we love putting LB’s on WR and TE’s, this guy could actually cover them. He can play in space, he can blitz, he’s a guy you can move around a lot.

Mac Jones: Guys a winner, period. He has that it factor, extremely smart and loves to prepare. Very accurate with the football, even higher rating than Burrows last year and doesn’t make a lot of mistakes. I love this one particular blurb from a draft review: In one incredible red zone throw against Georgia, Jones is able to throw a slot wheel route to Devonta Smith before Smith even cuts upfield -- the throw was breathtaking to watch during the film session and the epitome of an NFL-level throw. In a different red zone throw, Jones shows his ability to instantly read the leverage of his key (a linebacker off play action in this case), and he delivers a perfectly timed strike to his tight end in the middle of the end zone.

Quinn Meinerz: Mauler, love watching him destroy people. Plays guard but had a great showing at center during the Senior bowl, too. Guys that can play multiple spots are gold. His nickname is the Gut, gotta love that!

Demetric Felton: Don’t think we will go this route, already have a little guy in Johnson but man, this guy has skills. Could be great paring him up with Canada, too. Explosive player who runs great routes and gains separation.

Really like him too. Out of the backfield or in the slot, he's fun to watch. I'm not sure where he goes. 3-4 probably. Unless he runs some crazy time, but I don't think he will.

I’ve been seeing him mocked to NE. It would figure they’d get him.

He weighed in at Sr Bowl 6'1.5" and 350lbs.

I'd like to see him a little lighter. But he is a mauler and a people mover. Look at this kids arms below. long and carved from stone... strong punch and once he gets his hands on you he wins.

My 2 favorite deep dives this year.

    David Moore OG Grambling

TJ Vasher WR Texas Tech.....he remknds me of a more athletic Anquan Boldin when he catches the ball... great hands.. strong hands.... 6'6"... not a burner.. but good football speed... his biggest issues are above the neck (had eligibility issues).... and how bad does he want to be the best.

First round talent....5th round Brain... but I don't need him to do match.... put him in a system and let him learn it over a few years and I think you might have a star.

Moore is a big time sleeper that will make some noise in someone's camp...….. I'm not that impressed with vasher though.... Yes, he has great hands, but his speed and separation skills are sorely lacking... he's also very thin.. I don't see him as much more than a red zone specialist...…… now if he gained 30 lbs and moved to TE, he may become a major weapon

He ran 10.15 in the 100m at the FHSAA State Finals; a Youth World Record. He also has the 7th fastest all time 200m record at 20.47. Fast indeed. He is likely to run in the mid to high 4.2s at his Pro Day; perhaps faster. That said, him gaining 10lbs likely will not damage his speed too much.

Either way, some to look for within Round 4 assuming 1-3 are to fix the running game.

I think he has football speed. I bet he runs about a mid 4.5... faster than Ward...faster than Boldin...faster than Rice...

If he ran a a 4.3 at 6'6" with those hands he is a top 10 pick. There is a reason you can probably get him round 4-7

That was blown coverage more than being burned by his speed.

John Ross ran a 4.22, doesn’t mean anything if that’s all you got.

    True.

That said, assuming JuJu does leave and Chase Claypool does take his spot, we will need another speedster at the Z Position. Nico Collins maybe?! Beyond him, Rondale Moore but I seriously doubt he will be available by the time pick 55 comes around. Schwartz definitely needs coaching up no doubt but boy oh boy does he have speed that one seriously cannot teach. In addition, I do trust Ike Hillard to mold him into a complete player.

Tbh I don’t see the issue there. Trask and Jones have similar skill sets IMO. Not super mobile guys, both are excellent above the shoulders and extremely accurate in the short and intermediate throws. Jones might have a little more “extend the play” ability, while Trask is more reliant on his timing... however if some mechanical things can get cleaned up with trask and they find a way to get him some deep ball accuracy, then he might be the winner for me. Both of them feel like very high floor type players. You don’t have an athlete you have to teach quarterback to... you have a mentally sound quarterbacks that just need to polish and improve.

I don’t want to say either of them have low ceilings (as either could turn out to be great), but neither are going to be the flashy Patty Mahoney type. If either of them could find a way to be Philip Rivers, then we might be onto something though. Tbh I think both kind of project to the same type of player as Pip if all goes well. Similar strengths and weaknesses.

    I’ll pimp a few players I guess:

    1. Javonte Williams - RB UNC
I like him just as much as Harris IMO. He has great explosion, can run with power, has some really nice balance, and seems to have good vision as well. Reminds me of Kareem Hunt a bit. Even Ray Rice (but less muscle hampster-y)... idk if he’s around for us in round 2, but maybe a trade up in round 2 or trade down in round 1 to land him?

    2. Kyle Trask - QB Florida
Great accuracy in the short and intermediate game. Won’t wow with his arm, but if he refines his technique to improve his deep ball... then look out. Super intelligent player and can run some power runs on short yardage situations as well. Interesting prospect, and might turn out to be a good one. I said it earlier, but he has similar tools/comparables to Phillip Rivers IMO.

Agree on 1. Disagree on Trask. I watched every game he played, since coming in for a hurt Frank's. He's good. Way better than Frank's in the accuracy, read , and anticipation, but not as good as Jones in anything. IMO.

jones also plays with blue chip players at every position around him. i also don't think he will be there when we pick. trask also has a good two or more inches in height over jones. not the end all i know but we seem to like the taller guys. there are several that may be in play though for us.

Agreed. Jones won't be there. Also Trask played with a hell of alot of blue chippers himself.

That's fair I guess. I see him and Jones as very similar players actually. Trask is bigger and gives you the QB power run option for short yardage situations, but aside from that they seem similar. Both on the high end project to by a Phillip Rivers type QB or even a Kirk Cousins type. I would certainly be happy with either of them.

added a couple of o-linemen to my mock. worth a look if you have time on these two. not that i'm totally against my original LT of Dan Moore Jr. from Texas A&M but

Landon Young from Kentucky is a big boy left tackle. all-sec, blocked for benny snell as a freshman. good in pass protection and run blocking.

Conner Olson is a multiple interior player at all 3 positions. 4 year starter for Minn. in the big 10. has started 45 games for the gophers. 16 starts at LG, 15 starts at C, 14 starts at RG. both are also all-academic players.

shows how deep this o-line class really is this year. quality throughout, not just at the top. i'm hoping we even snag some UDFAs out of this group. there is quality even that late in this one. stockpile these guys for cheap now to build with later. real good bunch coming out.

I forget who the commentator was, but he said how do you rate Jones. Everything is there, all the intangibles, but he really has never had to play under pressure. From his line, running backs, and WR's all are top tier recruits. That said I think he can be a very good pro QB, I get a Chad Pennington vibe from him..in the right system can lead you to a lot of wins. Chad had injury problems, but when he was on was very good.

All of what you said is true . Except his arm is way stronger than Penningtons. IMO. Really everyone from Bama is hard 2 zero on because of the same things. Of course they play against a lot of teams with alot of big time blue chip players. I believe 6 of the top 10 recruiting (In last 10 years)teams play in the SEC.
