I know people don't want to hear it, but this is being held at Mitch Trubiski's property in Florida. Look's like Mitch expects to be with the Steelers again next year, which I don't think is a bad thing.

If they restructure his contract then I’m with you. Otherwise I see just as much value in bringing in some other back up for much less of a cap hit. I don’t think Tribs provides enough win for the value.

I’d rather they split his cap hit with another QB and use the remaining 3-4 million on another free agent in another position or towards retaining one of our other needed free agents.

I’ve seen Mitch enough, I’d even keep Mason Rudolph for less (if he’d do it). I don’t see and drop in on field value.

I think Mitch's value is better as the Veteran Back-up helping Kenny get better.

Well Mitch does have the better place. He's had the big contracts.
The 2nd year Pickett should be better.
I don't know what Mitch's mindset is now. He just needs to look at Carson Wentz for some humbling.
I think a lot will be told as we inch close to March 15th (Rule of 51).
    - Renegotiate/Extend him for a Cap friendly contract (probably the best scenario)
    - Or Mitch will just play this year out and move on.
    - Or they let him go in favor of another Vet.

Next week they will be busy with college operations - workouts, calls, visits..
and prepping for the Free Agency blitz on the 13th. (it's like opening day of trout season, shoulder to shoulder, and if someone catches one, a hundred lines are cast in the same spot.)

In the immediate future (now) they should be working the negotiations of players they have that they have identified to keep.
So those negotiations should be hot-n-heavy and what they can't work out, they have 5 days to figure out if they are worth the tag.

Love Pickett. Has two of the most important attributes as a qb. Leadership and clutch ability. Once the rest comes watch out

Can't stand the site of Mitch because he cost us the playoffs by playing for himself instead of the team in the first game against the Crows. He was absolutely trying to showcase himself.

Was at that game and I don’t know what he was doing, but make me or anyone I saw in the stadium around me care if he’s here any longer. The win needle is locked at a low position with him. I cannot justify his cap hit.

If Kenny goes down and he steps in all Mitch is half as valuable to our success as Pickett. He’s not even stabilizing. But he does eat up money that another free agent could have gotten that helps us win or be stronger.

Basically, how many wins could you say we have won or could conceivably win if he’s starting as much as he did this year? Can you say he’s responsible or good for 1 win? Maybe 2 at the very most. His salery is too much for that production. We can get that elsewhere for half the price and take the rest of his $$$ towards a different free agent position.

Go get Marcus Marriota for half the money and the same value. And

I don't agree with M.M. , but I agree with the rest of His comment. 8 million is way too much for a guy that may cost you wins....not help You win.

Mariota blows chunks and is worse than Trubisky. Hell...Trubisky is better than the bottom 1/5 of starters. There are some seriously crappy QBs in the NFL right now.

So funny... my foreskin and cowboy fan relatives are already dreading the 2023 Steelers. They believe Pickett is the real deal and Pickens is the second coming of Randy Moss. They envy the Steelers for their consistency. They think I'm on meth or crack for wanting to replace Tomlin as HC and get and new coach.

But if he’d completed that pass, he’d have been a legend, lol. I think it was all for nought. He was down by contact, wasn’t he?

I don’t recall but looks like he was probably down by contact but the fact he even attempted that

He was horrible, I can’t believe Smith didn’t bench him until the last few games.
