All that stuff can change quickly. The sad part is that there are Steeler "fans" that would rather be right and him continue to struggle than see him turn it around. Pathetic, petty crowd but they're out there.

I hate to agree with Goldburg, but there are definitely fans who would rather be right. It is clearly too early to write off Pickett, but they want to do it right now because it would make them right.

That's messed up. I can see doing it on players they liked ,or disliked on other teams ,but on the Steelers....
You know I don't like Trubisky, but if He's playing.....I'm rooting for Him to do good, and We didn't even draft him.

    good point.
Ricky Williams and Chris Boswell are the only two that I can think of off the top of my head that lost it then got it back.

It's really hard for me to make a call on Kenny Pickett because the entire offense is not good.
In the most basic form, you should be able to execute a run and generate SOME offense.

It should be noted that the 49ers and Browns are 2 very solid defenses. I might even say elite.

Against the Browns, Canada's game plan seemed to be to attack the edges.
The problem with that is, they have 2 DE's that can set the edge, they also have pursuit speed to run anything down.
So why didn't they just run straight up the middle.

    The passing game.
49ers and Browns can get after your QB in a hurry.
Kenny had a couple throws that were ill-advised but most of the time he was under duress.
No run game, no hesitation from the defense.
And the play design didn't seem to fool anyone, it was as if they had signs on them that said "Passing."
I do have to credit Kenny with a few big time throws too. That TD was as good as it gets.

At the end of the day, Pittsburgh should have done whatever it took to secure Eric Bieniemy.

    The O line
They always come under fire. They also got beat a lot against the Browns.
I didn't really see Broderick Jones on the field, but I wasn't really looking.
What I did see was lack of hustle. Dan Moore got beat and didn't even try to recover. Stuff like that.

Again, here we are at the start of a season, and the team doesn't sparkle with me.
Granted, they've faced two good defenses.
I can't make a call on any player yet, except Gunner who I hope they release after the new RB was signed.

I still have hope. And I really, really want to believe. Come on, Kenny. Get right against the Raiders.

OK, you must be short on reading comprehension or you simply have a character flaw that makes you think you are the smartest person in the room! You said teams win, QB's cant do it themselves. I said a real fanchise QB could make all the difference between winning and losing. You immediately claimed I am wrong and then added more caveats to your argumemt that were not part of your original statement. So by definition, it seems your first statement was either wrong to begin with or you now realize that you are wrong and are trying to distance yourself from the original, so which is it?

Adding further clarification so even you might understand is not distancing myself from my original statement. Nothing in the post of mine you quoted doesn't fit in with my previous post. There was no caveat. I was trying to help you keep up. My apologies if my efforts to enlighten you were subpar. I am used to teaching high school students, so I tend to expect at least that level.

You wrote that a quarterback can carry a team. I simply added that they can only do so much if the supporting cast isn't there. That is why judging quarterbacks solely or primarily on wins and losses is lazy and inaccurate. Is that clear enough for you now?

This is your contribution to the discussion? You have nothing to offer but lame swings at another poster? Do better, or at least make some attempt to discuss the actual topic. Thank you.

Very worrying opening two games for Kenny and Najee and Muth and the receivers and the offensive line…

What do they all have in common?

I wish they could blame it all on him. Sure, he is a part of the problem. His plans and play designs are simplistic and repetitive. He is far too slow to adjust when the defense throws something new at him. I'm sure that has played a part in the poor performance by Pickett, which in turn affects the rest of the offense, but the players have to execute better.
